SUMMER 2024 INTERN
Hello! My name is Olivia Chandler, and I will be entering my senior year this year at Florida State University. I am pursuing two bachelor's degrees in English - Editing, Writing, and Media with a minor in Women's Studies as well as Psychology with a minor in Child Development and am planning to graduate from FSU in the spring of 2025. After finishing my time as an undergraduate, I hope to pursue a PhD in Psychology and become a licensed mental health counselor and psychologist. For now, I will be working as a summer intern for the CRE, and I am so excited to get started!

I chose to go after a second degree in English because of my love for reading and writing. Since I was first able to pick up a book, I have always been a voracious reader. I have developed a special love for classics and memoirs, but I also enjoy jumping into a piece of contemporary fiction. As a writer, I have found solace in writing about things that I enjoy reading, which allows me to connect more with both parts of the world of literature. As a future psychologist, I am eager to learn about peoples’ diverse stories and experiences.

The CRE provides space for so many different programs and people within the world of research, and I can’t wait to begin working with the team here! This opportunity will allow me to sharpen my writing and social media skills and meet people involved in research on all kinds of topics. I look forward to spending the summer learning and growing in this position and interacting with people across different areas of campus. Look out for more blog posts from me throughout the summer as we begin this semester at the Center for Undergraduate Research and Academic Engagement!
