Dear BLG Members,
The Boston Lawyers Group (BLG) would like to invite you to participate in the Annual Summer Internship Program for College Students of Color. This a highly successful pipeline program that seeks to immerse current undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds to a career in law.
Important to note: The BLG must receive commitments for ten (10) summer interns in order for this program take place. This program has been on pause since 2020 when a virtual program took place but was ineffective. Please consider participating in the 2023 Summer Internship Program as it is such a crucial pipeline for the BLG's mission.
Many of these students are now contemplating law school and, in some cases, have taken the LSATs to pursue a legal career. Students who participate in the BLG Summer Internship Program attend the nation's finest colleges and universities, often with full scholarships which recognize their leadership ability and academic records. In addition, many are supported by organizations such as The Posse Foundation and Bottom Line, two premier student leadership development organizations.
Program Overview
Participating employers volunteer to hire one or more current undergraduate students of color for a ten-week paid internship. Suggested salary is $20.00 per hour (minimum wage plus $5.00). Participating firms provide an attorney mentor for the duration of the program. To provide a well-rounded experience for participating students, the BLG will host social and professional events throughout the summer designed to advance their knowledge of a career in law, provide professional etiquette classes and highlight the benefits of living in the dynamic city of Boston.
Interested applicants will meet the below requirements to apply to the program:
- Have completed their undergraduate freshman year and be entering their sophomore, junior or senior year at an accredited college or university
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America and,

Must submit an application to the BLG, which will include their resume, an application, and a statement of interest describing their leadership skills and legal aspirations within Boston's legal community.
