How Much Can An Angler Make On YouTube
Celebrity anglers have built huge followings on YouTube that have launched a number of new brands. Many pro anglers have also worked hard to grow their YouTube channels to monetize for themselves and provide value to their sponsors, but how much can they make from the channel. First to get into the Partner Program requires a channel to have at least 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months and 1,000+ subscribers. Once a channel is over that level most YouTubers earn around $18 for every 1000 ad views. That equates to $3 to $5 per 1,000 video views they receive. Rates can be adjusted and do vary depending on the channel. Read more in this article. An angler also has a chance monetize the channel further by selling sponsorships based on the popularity and views of the channel.

The BTL Academic Scholarship
BTL is stressing the importance of education, while having the ability to compete in the high school bass fishing competition across the nation, by awarding high school student anglers of the Class of 2022 scholarships based upon 75% of academic achievement in the classroom and 25% performance on the water. This Academic Scholarship is heavily weighted on the success student anglers have demonstrated in the classroom.
High School Bass Fishing Student Athletes will be awarded $1,000 Academic Scholarships during the month of April 2022. As the dollar amount increases for this scholarship program, an Academic Scholarship will be earned by students every time a thousand dollar threshold is surpassed. In other words, if there is $5,000 available in Academic Scholarships, there will be five Academic Scholarships awarded to the student anglers high school class of 2022. So, the more you pledge, the more dollars the student anglers can earn.
Student angler applications for the Academic Scholarships will be accepted on basszone.com beginning January 2nd, 2022. The application process will be active until January 31st, 2022. No Academic Scholarship applications will be accepted after January 31st, 2022 The Academic Scholarship form will give the student anglers an opportunity to showcase their accomplishments in the classroom and on the water during their high school years. The BTL Academic Scholarship Panel, Mark Jeffreys, Matt Pangrac and Bradley Hallman will make the final decisions on what student anglers will earn the BTL Academic Scholarships.
BTL's Mark Jeffreys has committed $1,000 to the scholarship fund and NOW, BTL fans can pledge dollars, be it small or large dollar amounts, to the BTL Academic Scholarship program. Check it out here.

Powroznik In The Opens
Jacob Powroznik is fishing all nine of the Basspro.com Bassmaster Opens with the goal of returning to the Bassmaster Elite Series for the 2022 season.
There will be 12 anglers who qualify for the 2022 Bassmaster Elite Series through the 2021 Basspro.com Bassmaster Open Series:
The Top 3 Pros in final overall points from all nine (9) Basspro.com Bassmaster Opens that are not already 2022 Elite qualified. - The Top 3 Pros in final points from each of the three Basspro.com Bassmaster Southern, Central and Northern Opens that are not included in overall points qualifiers or already 2022 Elite qualified.
Through four Opens this year, Powroznik has recorded finishes of 8th, 43rd, 31st, and 35th. He is currently leading the overall points race with 697 points and is in 7th place in the Southern Division of the Opens with one tournament remaining in September on Lake Norman.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to make the Bassmaster Classic, but that’s not why I’m fishing all nine of the Opens this year,” Powroznik explained. “My goal is to requalify for the Bassmaster Elite Series through the points.”
He said that his entire sponsor lineup has been fully supportive of his decision to fish at the Open level in 2021. “The Open fields are so big (225 boats in each tournament), so it’s no easy task. It’s also nearly impossible to make money fishing the Opens, so I’m very thankful to have all my sponsors stand with me,” he said.
Since 2004, Powroznik has competed on either the FLW Tour, Bassmaster Elite Series or MLF Bass Pro Tour and amassed over $2.5 million in career earnings. He said that the change from 80-150 boat fields in top level events to the 225 boat fields in the Opens has required adjustments.
“In the Opens, there’s no off-limits for practice, so you have a bunch of guys who are on the fishery every day weeks ahead of the tournament. I’m not saying that it is a bad thing, but by the time the tournament starts there isn’t an inch of the place that hasn’t seen a bait. You have to approach the entire event differently because of all the fishing pressure.”
There are five Bassmaster Open tournaments left on the 2021 schedule including Oneida Lake, St. Lawrence River, Lake Norman, Smith Lake, and Grand Lake.

Nonprofits Launch Clean Water, Habitat Protection Campaign

“Back Your Water” campaign promotes waterways, offers brag swag

Two South Carolina nonprofits are teaming up to help promote and protect some of the state’s most famous waterways.
Outdoor enthusiasts have the opportunity to get some brag swag sun shirts featuring their favorite waterways with the added bonus of conserving and protecting the state’s world-famous waterways.
A partnership between the South Carolina Boating and Fishing Alliance (SCBFA) and Global Eco Adventures (GEA) has launched the “Back Your Water” campaign with the waterway shirts. A donation from the sale of each shirt will be made to much-needed clean water, habitat enhancement, and floodwater monitoring programs. The price of the shirts is $40.
The sun shirts, made by Local Boy Outfitters of Columbia, will feature four of the state’s most premier waterways: Lake Hartwell and Lake Wylie in the Upstate; Murray in the Midlands; and Santee Cooper Lakes in the Lowcountry. The Charleston Harbor and other popular waterways will be featured on the shirts in the near future.
“South Carolinians love their waterways,” said Gettys Brannon, CEO of the SCBFA. “We are excited for South Carolinians to be able to wear their water and contribute money directly back to the waterways we all enjoy.”
South Carolina is the twenty-third most populous state but ranks seventh in the U.S. in registered boats per capita and sales over 725,000 fishing licenses per year.
The Back Your Water campaign is in conjunction with the first South Carolina Boating and Fishing Week that the General Assembly has set for the week of June 7th.
“Boating and fishing are South Carolina’s most popular outdoor recreational activities, and we all are responsible for protecting our natural resources for future generations,” said Brannon. “Global Eco Adventures for years has been dedicated to this effort. Every penny donated will go directly to their conservation efforts.”
“We are proud to stand with the South Carolina Boating and Fishing Alliance (SCBFA) as part of the “Back Your Water” campaign,” said Tom Mullikin, Chairman of the Board of GEA. “SCBFA is an important voice protecting our state’s waterways, and every dollar contributed to GEA will go directly to our programs for floodwater monitors, habitat restoration, and water cleanups,” said Mullikin.
Both Brannon and Mullikin expressed appreciation to the S. C. Department of Natural Resources for its advice and support.
“We are excited to see the SCBFA partnering on a program with GEA to raise monies for these important resource issues,” said Ross Self, SCDNR Chief of Freshwater Fisheries. “I am particularly excited to see the inclusion of habitat enhancement as a priority. Habitat has become an increasingly critical issue as the state’s reservoirs age, and the timber and woody debris that existed when the waterways were impounded have broken down over time. Enhancement of larger reservoir habitat is a huge effort and will require innovative thinking and partnerships to really move the needle.”
