March 2024 Newsletter

From our Director

Dear Beloved Members, Pastors, and Supporters:

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of our modern lives, it’s easy to lose sight of the deeper meaning of the season that is upon us. Lent and Easter, two pillars of the Christian calendar, offer a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect, and realign ourselves with the core principles of our faith.

Lent, which began on Ash Wednesday and concludes on Easter Sunday, is a period of 40 days of penitence, reflection, and preparation leading up to the commemoration of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. During this time, Christians are encouraged to engage in practices such as prayer, fasting, and almsgiving to deepen their connection with God and prepare their hearts for Easter.

But beyond the traditional observances, Lent is an opportunity for us to take stock of our lives and consider how we can live more authentically as disciples of Christ. It’s a time to examine our priorities, our relationships, and our habits, and to make intentional choices that bring us closer to God and to our neighbors.

In a world that often seems focused on materialism, individualism, and instant gratification, Lent challenges us to embrace simplicity, community, and sacrifice. It asks us to consider the needs of others before our own, to seek forgiveness and reconciliation, and to let go of the things that distract us from our relationship with God.

Easter, then, is not just a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, but a celebration of the new life that is possible for each of us when we commit ourselves to following in His footsteps. It’s a reminder that no matter how far we may have strayed from God’s path, there is always the opportunity for redemption and renewal.

This Lenten season, let us commit ourselves to a more intentional and authentic faith. Let us embrace the disciplines of Lent as opportunities for growth and transformation. And let us enter into Easter with hearts full of gratitude and hope, ready to live out our faith more fully in the world. I’m ready, Let’s Go!
