August Service Planned for Pat Sim

We have learned from Pat Sim's family that there will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 21, at Meridian Village. Later in the day, Fr. Ben will do the interment service at St. Andrew's Columbarium for her family only.
Father Steve Weissman will be the celebrant for the service at Meridian Village.

A reminder and further information will be provided in a subsequent newsletter closer to August 21. Pat will always be remembered as a long-time
and dedicated member of St. Andrew's who served as parish treasurer. If you are certain you will attend the August service, email the church office at office@standrews-Edwardsville now so the family is aware of the number of attendees.

Parish Notes

  • Liturgical Ministers - In the coming weeks, we will begin looking towards the third quarter for scheduling our liturgical ministers, and that is a great time for those who might be interested in serving to join us. Such ministries include Acolytes, Altar Guild, Choir, Eucharistic Ministers, Intercessors, and Lectors. If you would like to learn more about one of these ministries, please reach out to Fr. Ben or one of our ministry leaders with questions or to be included in future communications. We’ll set up a time this summer for new and refresher training. -Fr. Ben

  • Parish Hall Carpeting - The committee researching carpet tile options for the parish hall and flooring for the kitchen area has narrowed possibilities down to three choices and is waiting for 24 x 24 samples to arrive to help make final decisions. They hope to forward their recommendations for carpet tile and vinyl flooring to the next vestry meeting for discussion. -Marian Smithson

  • Greenhouse Sale - The Bohns are at home for a bit before traveling again. If you wish to visit the greenhouse, call Walter Bohn at 618-920-0189 to make an appointment. The greenhouse is at 2836 Keebler road in Maryville and ready for you to pick out vegetables and herbs for your garden and hanging baskets for the porch or entryway. Please bring cash or a check. All sales benefit St. Andrew’s.
