Dr. David Malloy, King's President, discusses the pope's apology on Canadian residential schools, which came after three days of meetings between Canadian Indigenous Peoples, Inuit Peoples and Metis Peoples and Pope Francis at the Vatican.

Rescheduled Antler River Clean-up
Rescheduled due to weather! Everyone is welcome to participate in King’s Antler River Cleanup on Monday, April 4 at noon. We will be picking up litter from along Deshkan Ziibi/Thames River.
We'll meet in front of Labatt Hall. Gloves and garage bags will be provided. Supported by the Social Justice and Peace Studies (SJPS) department, the SJPS Club and Antler River Rally (co-led by Miriam Love and Tom Cull).

Since April is Earth Month, we would like to highlight some of the initiatives King's has undertaken to protect and sustain our planet. They are driven by our comprehensive environmental plan and our vision for a sustainable campus.

Graduation Application Deadline
|
|
Fundraiser Concert for I Love First Peoples
Join us for a night of music, performances, snacks, and lots of dancing! There will be live rock, alternative pop, indie, and country music as well as a dance performance.
Admission is free but donations are encouraged. All proceeds go to I Love First Peoples' Friendship Art Campaign, which helps bring art kits to Indigenous school children in remote communities in Canada.

Spring Foreward
Discover the work of creative writers from our campus community. The Write Place welcomes you to this end-of-term live reading event featuring writers from King's. This event will be in-person and streamed online. You need to register for the online meeting but not for in-person attendance.

Late Night Breakfast and a Movie
Enjoy a free late night breakfast with your Students' Council, who will be serving pancakes, French toast, bacon, pastries, fruit and beverages. There will also be a late night movie. KUCSC wants to motivate you through exams and celebrate your successes this academic year.

The Catholic Church Wants to Hear from You
Your voice will help to shape the future of Catholic universities and we welcome your honest, thoughtful participation. At King's University College and Christ the King University Parish, we are starting with a survey to gather input from a wide array of people connected to the University community.
Please take some time to reflect upon and share your thoughts by responding to the questions found on the survey. The survey will close on April 30, 2022.

King’s values your feedback
You can submit feedback on courses and teaching as part of the winter term Student Questionnaire on Courses and Teaching (SQCT), open until April 9. Watch your inbox for an email from Western.
Students who complete at least one Student Questionnaire on Courses and Teaching (SQCT) using the Your Feedback system during the end-of-course feedback period will be entered into a random prize draw for one of five $500 Amazon Canada Gift Cards. Each questionnaire completed during the three-week end-of-course feedback period will count as one entry into the draw.

Muslim Women’s Wellness Support Group
This is a five-week wellness group for Muslim, woman-identifying, Western students (and those attending their affiliates) to increase your wellness during your journey. This group offers a culturally responsive safe space where you can share your experiences and concerns navigating mental health concerns, experiencing intersectionality being Muslim, women and Western students. This group is led by a Muslim-identifying counsellor from the Wellness and Well-being team at Western.
The group will occur weekly on Fridays from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. until April 8.

COVID-19 Screening
In keeping with changing regulations and recommendations from the province, Western requires everyone who comes to campus , including affiliate campuses. Before you come to campus, you must complete the province's COVID-19 self-assessment tool. You do not need to complete the self-assessment on days when you are not coming to campus.

Western's On-Campus COVID Vaccination and Testing Centre Has Moved
Western’s Vaccination and Testing Centre is open for walk-in vaccination or rapid testing in Thames Hall. PCR testing is no longer available.

Connect with others experiencing similar feelings via Togetherall's peer-to-peer platform. This safe place also has trained professionals on hand, 24/7. They ensure all members are anonymous to each other within the community.

Personal Counselling
If you think you could benefit from counselling, you can access support through Student Affairs. Accessibility, Counselling & Student Development (ACDS) has caring professional counsellors to support you in managing personal concerns more effectively.
King’s is offering same-day individual counselling. To set up an appointment with a counsellor, please complete the appointment request form. All appointments are over Zoom.

CMHA Virtual After-Hours Crisis Counselling
Support is here. CMHA is offering free and confidential virtual after-hours counselling until April 22 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. You can book same-day appointments by emailing studentcrisisappointment@cmhamiddlesex.ca.

JOIN US FOR SUNDAY EUCHARIST
Sunday Eucharist takes place in a beautiful chapel built by the Sisters of St. Joseph, at Windermere on the Mount, 1486 Richmond St. (the corner of Richmond Street and Windermere), only a 15-minute walk north of campus. Masses are at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The 11 a.m. Mass is live-streamed to our Facebook page and YouTube channel. Registration is still required, we kindly ask that you register for Mass in advance. Go to the back of the building and follow the signs. We hope to see you there!
Daily Mass is offered in the Christ the King Chapel in Wemple Building on Wednesdays and Fridays at noon. Seating is extremely limited. You can pre-register by contacting Lisa Caeiro or 519-963-1477.
MIDDAY PRAYER: Midday Prayer is every Thursday at noon virtually on our Facebook page.

ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITALITY CENTRE: Our community returns to the St. Joseph's Hospitality Centre on April 9 from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Please drop off any pre-packaged non-refrigerated donations such as juice boxes, granola bars, fruit cups, apple sauce, etc. in the basket located in the Christ the King Chapel, Wemple building by April 8. Perishable items such as sandwiches or cheese can be dropped off at the back door of the hospitality centre between 11 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 9. If you have any questions or would like to participate please contact Annette Donovan Panchaud.
TRIDUUM: Please join us as we celebrate the Three Great Days as one great feast. Holy Thursday will be celebrated on April 14 at 7 p.m., Good Friday on April 15 at 3 p.m., the Easter Vigil on April 16 at 9 p.m. and Easter Sunday on April 17 at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. Please register in advance either online or by phone.
Solidarity with Ukraine: Student to Student conversations with Ukraine: Join students in the Ukraine for a live Zoom conversation as they share their experience, and reactions to the war, how the situation looks from abroad, and how people abroad can help stop the war and support their peers in Ukraine. Students from all over the world and everybody interested in meeting their peers from Ukraine are invited to join. We will gather in the Kenny Theatre on April 5 at 11 a.m. Be part of the conversation!
