What we have been up to:

We are honored to share that I2D2 is featured in the Early Childhood Research for Educational Equity: Family - School - Systems Connection publication. May is Mental Health Awareness month. I2D2 has a history of collaborating with state partners to address circumstances that impact mental health needs for children and families. In 2022, we released the 2022 ECI Family Survey Report which found that low income families had less awareness of how and where to find services they need, along difficulty with access and affordability. State partners responded, and thanks to these voices from Iowa families, the 2023-2026 ECI Strategic Plan included how to best address mental health supports. View our list of publications to learn more about our commitment to advance mental health in Iowa.

Our partnership with Head Start continues to grow. In our expanding partnership with Head Start Directors and the Head Start State Collaborative Office, we plan to build an integrated dashboard system to guide Community Needs and Service reporting on the IA Data Drive. Stay tuned for updates as we begin to roll-out these updates!

State-Level Accessibility of Head Start Data Across the United States - Head Start is part of the complex landscape of preschool programming, including a myriad of local, state, and federally funded options. Historically, incorporating Head Start data in studies of preschool is challenging. This brief provides background on how some states are doing this. Fortunately, I2D2 is one of the only systems in the country that includes Head Start programs in our individual data holdings – we are helping support quality research about Head Start.
