Prove Me Wrong
November 3rd | 6:30pm - 8pm

We're back baby!! After a year-long hiatus, the Prove Me Wrong speaker series is back (and better than ever)!

What is it, you ask? In the age of 'gotcha' arguments on social media, in which the only goal is to score points, we need to be extra intentional about pursuing truth. Prove Me Wrong endeavors to outline both sides to any given (controversial) topic to equip us in discerning the truth which ultimately aids in strengthening our faith.

Come hear Father Carlos Rodriguez's talk on Ascending the Mountain of God: Psychology vs. Religion - a both-and approach. Fr. Carlos is the Director of Counseling Services at Mundelein.

Wear your best networking attire and join us on Wednesday, November 3rd in the St. Al's Festival Hall (church basement) to hear Father Carlos Rodriguez speak. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be provided. A $5 suggested donation is encouraged. You are welcome to join us for mass at 6pm before the event!
Philosophy Forum
Tuesdays | 7pm-8:30pm

Join us on Tuesdays in the St. Al's rectory for weekly philosophy discussions and digging deeper into the greatest thinkers of all time. Get in touch with our Intellectual chair, Ephrem, for more information.

Trivia
Saturday, Nov. 13th | 5pm

St. Al's YAM welcomes every factoid aficionado (of all ages!) to join us Saturday, November 13th at St. Alphonsus Festival Hall for an evening (5-8pm) packed with trivia!
After a Spring adjustment last time due to Covid, we're moving our annual Trivia event back to its rightful spot in November! The cost of tickets is $25 per person (it is a fundraiser!). Teams of 5-6 people can register individually or together. Simply list the names of everyone on your team in the "Comments" section on GiveCentral during your purchase. Light refreshments, beer and wine are included in the event cost and prizes will be provided to the winning team members.

Don't know anyone or don't have 6 people on your team? Fear not! You may also register individually or in a smaller group (2-4 people). We will assign you to a team. All are welcome!

***Please note: pre-registration/payment through the GiveCentral link is required to attend. No walk-ups will be allowed due to team assignments. Sign ups close on Thursday, Nov. 11th.

If trivia isn’t your thing, but still want to join us, consider volunteering as well at the link below.

Saturday, Dec. 11th | 9am-1pm

Join St. Alphonsus Young Adult Ministry and YCP Chicago on Saturday, December 11th for the St. Joseph Saturday Retreat! St. Joseph Saturday is a FREE half-day retreat (open to all young adults in their 20s and 30s), where young adults are encouraged to “look upon work with the eyes of faith” and see God’s presence in their vocations and professional lives. Check-In begins at 9am, but there will be an optional daily Mass at 8:30am (confession available starting at 8am). The retreat will end at 1pm. Free parking is available in the St. Alphonsus parking lot, or street parking is also available nearby.
