“Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
 - John 20:29

Christ is Risen!

Jesus appears to the disciples in peace, but Thomas wasn’t there. All the disciples were celebrating, but Thomas wasn’t there. The disciples are excited, but Thomas wasn’t there. The disciples are in awe, but Thomas wasn’t there. His friends tell him what they saw, “We have seen the Lord!” His response?

“Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

We are celebrating too! Sunday, we celebrated our Risen Lord! The praise was loud and our hearts are still filled with joy. Sadly, some of our friends and family were not with us. They do not believe….yet. We want them to experience the joy we share, the hope we have, the love we know.

Take heart and pray. Our Lord comes to those in love even when they refuse to believe. Our Lord, Jesus, comes in peace. Jesus comes to those in doubt, he comes to us in our doubts, shows us his scars, and says, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Thomas said to Jesus four of the most faithful words, “My Lord and my God!”

Invite your friends and family to church, to read God’s word. If they said “No!” Don’t worry, just pray. You never know, one day they may say what Thomas said, “My Lord and my God!”

See you at church Sunday when we call our next witness, Thomas.

*(Ref. John 20:19-29)
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
