A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR KLING
This week we also wanted to honor our police officers for National Police Week. Words can hardly express the sincere gratitude and appreciation we have towards the men and women who work to serve and protect our community with integrity, teamwork and excellence 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Tomorrow, Saturday, May 15, the 54th Annual Parade America will take place in Nampa (see map below) thanks to many volunteers and the coordinating committee. There will be over 60 parade entries in addition to the color and honor guards and first responders. The parade is a wonderful time to honor our country with this year's theme "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." I hope you will take advantage of the beautiful weather and join me Saturday at 11 a.m. for Parade America.

HELP OUR COMMUNITY
Brush-Up Nampa is an annually organized event for volunteer teams to paint homes of Nampa senior and disabled residents in need. Paint and supplies are provided through the program thanks to generous community sponsors.

Brush-Up Nampa is more than just paint; participation restores pride in ownership, increases property values and boosts the morale of the recipients.

UPDATES ON NAMPA CONSTRUCTION
CHIPS SEALING STARTS JUNE 1 IN SELECT AREAS
The City of Nampa Streets Division will begin chip sealing in select areas on June 1 and expects to be complete by the end of August. This year, 11 arterial road sections and 15 subdivisions will be chip sealed.

WHY CHIP SEAL? Chip sealing is a common, cost-effective, pavement maintenance practice that extends pavement life and improves driving surface. Chip sealing is about one-fourth to one-fifth the cost of a conventional asphalt overlay.
