FHFA: Desktop Appraisals to Become a Permanent Option

The Federal Housing Finance Agency will accept appraisals conducted remotely—without the physical presence of an appraiser—starting in early 2022 for qualifying Fannie Mae– or Freddie Mac–backed mortgages.
