2022 Watermelon Festival
August 5 & 6, 2022
Celebrating the huge watermelon industry in Knox County with some summertime fun - the 2022 Watermelon Festival will be on Friday, August 5 & Saturday, August 6 in Vincennes, IN. Enjoy booths with fair food favorites, live music, and arts & craft vendors.

We just launched our forms for the Baby/Toddler pageant, Tiny/Teen Pageant, and Queen Pageant, and those can be found on our website.

New to the festival this year is the Antique Tractor Show, sponsored by Organ Battery & Electric! The tractor show will be from 9-4 on Saturday, and is free to participate! More information about location & unloading is on our website.

We are currently accepting vendors for the festival, so if you're interested, please download the forms by going to our website.

Registration is also open for our 5K Run/Walk presented by Old National Bank. Registration is available by going to our website.

Leadership Knox County
Applications Due Aug. 15
We are so exited to officially launch the 2022-23 Leadership Knox County class in partnership with Purdue Extension.

This class consists of monthly sessions held from September 2022 - May 2023. You'll learn through personal experiences and self-assessments, small group activities, panels and networking opportunities with local and regional business, nonprofit, education, and government leaders!

If you're interested in enhancing your knowledge about your community and are willing to get involved, this program is for YOU! Applications are open and are due by August 15th to be considered for the class.

The workshop is Tuesday, July 19th from 10am-Noon at the Westgate Academy in Odon, IN. You must register to attend.
Small Business Grant Opportunity
Applications due Aug. 31
Southern Indiana Development Commission (SIDC) is working in partnership with the FHLBank Indianapolis to host a workshop about their upcoming Elevate Small Business Grant. 

If you are a small business in Daviess, Greene, Knox, Lawrence or Martin Counties and are interested in applying for the Elevate Small Business Grant, you don’t want to miss this opportunity to learn more. To submit a grant application and a chance to receive up to $20,000 for your business, you must partner with a financial institution that is a member of the FHLBank Indianapolis. 
Watermelon Business Challenge
Applications due July 13
We are so excited to announce that The Knox County Chamber of Commerce and The Pantheon have partnered to bring you the first annual Watermelon Business Challenge!

During this competition, applicants will submit a proposal for a business and/or a product created using fresh watermelon. We are looking to our community of entrepreneurs to pitch innovative and impactful value-added products that will keep the capital associated with watermelon processing in Knox County. This challenge also offers many resources for entrepreneurs and businesses alike.

Old Town Players Auditions
Old Town Players is holding auditions for their community talent showcase, OTP Follies, on July 11 & 12 at 6 PM.

The OTP Follies is a venue for the presentation of local talent of all ages. Not a competition - no judging or awards offered. The audition process serves to indicate a quality performance and will aid in the scheduling of the performance rotation.
