DEMO DAZE Game Summary

Premise
Determine how BEST robotics can aid in the complex and safety critical tasks on construction and demolition sites.

Goal
Design a Robot to accomplish these tasks:
  1. Demolish and move the building from the site
  2. Install safety/security measures at the site
  3. Separate and recover recyclable and reusable materials
  4. Remove the trash from the site
  5. Recover/secure the air compressor

VACCINATIONS - We encourage everyone attending be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and seasonal influenza.
 
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE
  1. Screening will require you to plan extra time for screening upon arrival. We check for temperatures of less than100.4 degrees, ask screening questions about COVID symptoms and recent confirmed case contact, and provide a wristband following a successful screening. Wristbands must be worn at all times during the competition.
  2. Masks are required for everyone (teams, volunteers and spectators) two and older. If you forget. we will have a limited number available at event entry. Everyone must wear masks while inside unless eating and drinking in designated areas or outside. 
  3. Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the venue. 
  4. Event entry will take place at the times in our instructions. Please move swiftly to the gym or marketing presentation room and don’t linger unnecessarily in the lobby.
  5. Food and beverage consumption will be restricted to a designated area; no eating or drinking inside the gym. Water fountains are unavailable.
  6. Social Distancing of at least 3 feet and even better if possible 6 feet is encouraged to limit exposure to others

If you are unwell, please stay home. If you or a member of your family is experiencing symptoms similar to those of COVID-19 or have had known exposure to someone with COVID-19, please stay home.

Practice Day Event Success
Our thanks for all the hours by all the volunteers!
OUR VOLUNTEERS ROCK!
LOTS of fun and excitement occurred at our 23 October event at Englewood High School.

Front Range BEST hub generously shared the school with our teams in the afternoon.

Referees and Game Setters had lots of time to learn and practice the challenging tower rebuild process.

Twelve of our teams were able to take advantage of the game field practice time. Some robots were ready to tackle the field immediately and other had their robots moving around the field by the end of the afternoon.

Chris and Ben our video streaming volunteer team were able to try out new equipment and process.
