MESSAGE FROM FR. JEFF

Hello everybody!

One of my favorite liturgical celebrations each year is our mass for first communion. The innocence, expectations, and joy of our young children as they receive Jesus in the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time is contagious. Please pray for the 80 children experiencing this moment of grace on Saturday. A special thanks to all of those who served as Prayer Partners for our first communicants. Thank you!

I invite all of the young adults (21-40ish) in our parish and beyond to participate in the upcoming Brunch and Nature Walk on April 27. More information can be found below. Whether single or married, this is a great opportunity to connect with others, build relationships, and have some fun.

This weekend, we also open the nomination process for the Pastoral Council and School Board. Nomination forms will begin the gathering space and online nomination links will be available on the website starting this weekend. Selections to fill the open positions for next year will take place at Pentecost. Please consider being nominated or nominating someone else to serve in these important roles for our community. Thanks!

On a personal note, my mom’s move into a new home was successful last weekend and the weather was perfect. We are working to get her settled in her new place, which will take some time. Thanks for all your prayers! I will also be traveling next week with our 8th Graders going on their trip to Washington, DC. This will be my second year acting as a chaperone and, based on my experience last year, I am truly excited to be with our amazing students for this experience. Please offer a prayer for our trip. Thank you.

May the joy of Easter and new life in Christ continue to fill your hearts and our entire community.

Peace,

Fr. Jeff

Staff Spotlight

Lori Mehlbauer, Parish Administrative Assistant

What is something people do not know about you?

My given name is Loretta. I was named after a nun my mother worked with at Mercy Hospital in Owensboro. Mom went into labor on Wednesday, the nun came in and said "That child's not coming until tomorrow and since tomorrow is my birthday, if it's a girl you have to name her after me." So not only do I share my birthday with Sister Loretta, my Mom has been using this story to say I was stubborn since the day I was born.

What is your favorite scripture or prayer and why?

My favorite prayer is the Daily Novena Prayer to St. Joseph. The nine day novena has never failed me when I needed guidance and direction.

What do you love most about your ministry/serving at St. Patrick?

I love working in a shared faith environment but mostly I love the parishioners here. I feel their joy and love and it reflects into my heart with the warmth and love of God in a way I could not have imagined before.

2024-25 Stewardship Renewal

Thanks to those who have responded to our requested deadline of April 15 for stewardship commitments that begin on July 1, 2024. As stewards, we are called to share our gifts and it takes the financial support and volunteerism from everyone in our parish and school for us to continue to thrive and fulfill our mission as a beacon of Christ's love. We are still accepting stewardship forms, so please take some time to discern your gifts and respond accordingly. Take advantage of our online renewal HERE or return your hard copy to the offertory collection, parish office or mail. Questions? Contact Lynne Marshall at (502)244-6083.
