Meet the Staff!

Marti is the Program Coordinator for Columbiana and Jefferson counties. She is focused on nurturing her relationships with her existing RSVP volunteers while recruiting and welcoming new volunteers into the RSVP family. She enjoys building new, strong partnerships within her areas to provide meaningful opportunities to best utilize the interests and life skills of senior volunteers.

Marti has identified the needs of her area and has focused on tackling food insecurities and companionship for seniors and veterans in her communities by collaborating with community partners. She was an integral part of implementing a volunteer ran food pantry delivery service and a phone pal program throughout her counties. Her main objective is to align resources and programs in Columbiana and Jefferson counties to provide senior volunteers across county lines the opportunity to work together to build awareness and value of the RSVP program all while building strong friendships and enriching the lives of the volunteers.

In her spare time Marti enjoys spending time in nature riding quads, watching sports and attending dirt bike/ATV races. She loves spending time with her family, and her 15 year old dog Buckeye. Her favorite part of her job is working in the community with volunteers and community members to make a difference in the lives of others.

Crawford, Marion & Morrow Counties

The winter weather has taken its toll on many planned events throughout the Crawford, Marion, and Morrow county areas, but our friends and partners at the Crawford County Council on Aging were still able to get some fun activities in during the month of January! Guests attended not only a Valentine making class, but also a Disney Silhouette painting class that were well attended despite the snow and cold. So glad to see our area seniors involved and active during the winter cold while we wait for the warmer months ahead!

At the end of the year all the organizations get together at the Rose Garden Park and decorate a tree that resembles your organizations. RSVP decorated this tree in blue lights with AmeriCorps Seniors ornaments. During this event we place out brochures about what our organization does to give back to the community. It is a neat way to connect with other organizations as well as learning more about what else we can do for our communities.

Montgomery & Greene Counties

As a new program coordinator, I am getting to know some of our existing sites. One of these is the Life Enrichment Center. I have seen the building throughout my life and never knew all of the things they do for Old North Dayton. Old North Dayton is near and dear to my heart. I went to school in my youth and worked at an old restaurant as a teenager. In addition, as an adult in my career, I have made many partnerships with individuals, schools, and organizations throughout that part of town. I really felt like I knew that community’s assets. I was so surprised and impressed when I visited The Life Enrichment Center recently.

The Life Enrichment Center building is home to a food pantry, clothing pantry, and a home goods pantry. There are showers for homeless whom may need it. They host recovery and GED programs. There is a fitness center, enrichment classes, and an accessible computer lab. They have an area that is paved and ready to host Safety Town programs. These are just the things I am rattling off that I remember off the top of my head. There are many more programs and access points to resources that this organization offers. All I can say is that I am very proud to know all the good the Life Enrichment Center represents and am excited to help find volunteers to support their many great endeavors.

Wyandot, Seneca & Huron

We’re excited that our partner, Tiffin Salvation Army, is once again offering a hot meal weekly to those in need. Our RSVP volunteers, in partnership with the Seneca County Opportunity Center, help prepare, serve, and clean up from this meal and have a blast doing it. Each Wednesday they help serve several individuals and families who are in need of food and community and our volunteers succeed in meeting both of those needs. If you’re interested in helping us, please contact Ariel at 419-448-1530 to get started.
