Weekly Newsletter 11/10/2023

Dear Parents,

Although a short week, it was filled with lots of learning! This week our students are gearing up for their class community feasts. If you have not yet signed up and would like to contribute something toward the feast, please sign up on the boards outside the school.  Class feasts will be held on Friday, November 17th. We are doing this a week before Thanksgiving as the following week is non instructional so attendance for VPK and our K-2 program is optional and we are also closed on Thursday and Friday Thanksgiving week.

If you are bringing in an item on the list next Friday, please drop it off when you drop off your child. We will heat items as needed in our kitchen and deliver them to the rooms.

Thank you to all the families who donated grocery gift cards. I know they will be a welcome surprise to families from our school who could use some special assistance this Thanksgiving. We will continue to accept gift cards and add hearts to our Giving Tree until Tuesday, November 21st.

Although it may seem early, we opened our enrollment this week for our 2024-2025 Kindergarten. I have already had several inquiries and in a blink of an eye 10 of the 14 kindergarten spaces are already full. If your child is in VPK and wishes to stay for Kindergarten, be sure to let me know if you have not already done so.

For all currently enrolled families in Kindergarten and first grade, we have saved you spaces for next year. If you are leaving however, please let us know. Same goes for all our our families ages 1-4. We have spaces held for you for fall unless you tell us you are leaving. We are also opening a 3rd VPK for next year. It is already half full so if you have friends who are not at our school looking for a VPK space for next year, let them know.

Please mark your calendars for our Fall Photos. Your child can come to school in their school uniform or in an dress up outfit with a change of clothing. The company we use will shoot photos on a green screen so DO NOT WEAR GREEN. Then parents can see the proofs on line and pick the backgrounds they wish. All children will take photos and there is no obligation to purchase. Photo dates are as follows:

11/28 Siblings taken together and separately, Kindergarten, 1st, & 2nd grade

11/29 VPK and Orange

11/30 Green, Red, and Yellow

12/1 Rainbow and Blue and any kids who were absent

Have A Great Long Weekend and we will see you back on Monday!
