Our Impact is Growing

In keeping with our anniversary, "Fifty & Flourishing", we have begun adding leaves to this beautiful tree to capture the collective impact of our services. Each leaf contains the unique hope, goals, and stories of our clients.

Trauma and violence impact each person in deep and diverse ways. Our advocates work in a person-centered approach to help clients establish safety and begin healing in the ways which matter most to them. Here's a small glimpse at their hopes for healing...

"My goal is to protect my kids."

"You guys are the only ones who are always there for me."

"Relief."

"For the first time I feel like I can breath."

"I want to recover from my brain injury. I'm working to recover my skills by doing math with my son."

"You don't understand the role VAP plays, and how helpful you all are!!"

Community Baby Shower!

We have had an amazing show of support with donation items for the new CWWV Drop-In Center from so many community members and companies alike. However, the need for funding our specially trained CWWV Child Specialists is still great. There is still time for you to partner with us to protect kids in danger. Don't miss your chance to provide safety and healing for young children and their families who have been impacted by violence and trauma - They need our help, together!

LEARN MORE & GIVE

Starting 9.1.2022, our new CWWV Drop-In center will provide free emergency child watch services for families seeking court protections and safety. This program will reduce barriers to service for vulnerable families and link parents and guardians with further advocacy, legal, basic needs, and community referrals.

Are you or your company interested in sponsoring our last few big ticket items or room mural art project? Please contact Ari Barrett at 330-376-7022 ext. 212, or abarrett@victimassistanceprogram.org.

SVAA Names New Director

It's official! Dana Zedak, our long time Director of Educational Services, has moved into her new role as Essentials Coordinator, as part of her longer-term plans for retirement.

Evey Williams, PhD, MEd, CA has taken on this exciting role, beginning last week. Evey is no stranger to VAP, as she previously served as our Manager of Summit County Services and Barberton Supervisor.

We are so thankful to both of these inspiring women, and look forward to where their leadership will take the Summit Victim Assistance Academy!
