What brought you to Saint John’s Graduate School of Theology and Seminary?
My interest is in theological study. Saint John's is the best environment to help me fulfill my interest and grow spiritually. Because of my love for learning about the Church's traditions (especially the early religious life of our church) , I believe that living with the Benedictine sisters and learning in this school is an opportunity for me to observe and learn how to build community life and be faithful in prayer life as people in early religious life did. I have been looking forward to learning spiritual direction, Saint John's is the place that helped me commit myself to this field.
How will you be spending your time once your coursework is complete?
Immediately after my studies, I will be spending time celebrating Christmas with the Benedictine sisters, then going back home to Vietnam for my ministry. Therefore, this time before graduation is crucial to review and observe what I have learned and try to take some interesting lessons to prepare for my future.
What are your future goals/plans?
My goal is to bring the experiences I had at the SOT/Sem to my ministry. I hope to bring my newly found knowledge and experience of faith to help my sisters-in-formation in Vietnam. Hopefully, we will grow our faith and carry out our ministry's mission as effectively as possible.
Give one hope for how you will use your degree and SOT/Sem experience.
I am waiting for my assignment from my congregation. However, no matter where I go, I hope to have an opportunity to teach theology. Another hope of mine would be to grow in the field of spiritual direction to accompany my sisters and Vietnamese people to deepen in relationship with God.
