CSU Pueblo leadership is proud to join the City of Pueblo and the NAACP Pueblo Branch to celebrate Dr. King’s message of civic duty and service to humankind with a series of events in downtown Pueblo beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 16th. Read more about the scheduled events, parade, and service opportunities here

If you are looking for ways to serve on Monday, CSU Pueblo will have tables set up along the afternoon parade route – both at the Rawlings Library and at El Pueblo History Museum, and boxed lunches will be available to pick up for any CSU Pueblo participant and your families. We would love to see you join us at all or some of this impactful day, wear your CSU Pueblo gear, and celebrate with us as we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Hydro opening marks realization of vision for innovation at CSU Spur

"In addition to housing Denver Water’s new water quality lab, Hydro will be home to a range of programs and initiatives focused on developing new technologies and approaches to conserve, protect, and monitor precious water resources. Among these is the Water Technology Acceleration Platform, or Water TAP, a program of CSU’s One Water Solutions Institute, which will take advantage of having access at Hydro to water from multiple sources to support development of new technologies and approaches to make less-than-pristine water safe to use for irrigation, flushing toilets and other purposes.

Hydro’s roof will feature CSU Spur’s second research green roof, this one exploring rooftop agrivoltaics, or how solar panels can accompany, and even support, urban agriculture efforts. In addition to CSU programs and initiatives, Hydro will provide space for nonprofit organizations focused on water and water education, and it will connect visitors to Western water issues through educational exhibits and rotating programming. The building also supports arts programming, including a flexible theatre space that will serve as a venue for performances and events."

NEW: IT Security: QR Codes: A Growing Vulnerability to Cyber Crimes

On behalf of Information Technology - Information Security

Consumer technologies continue to become increasingly innovative. While they often make our lives better, these new technologies give cyber criminals new ways to threaten our privacy and steal our identities. As QR codes continue to grow in popularity, cyber criminals have begun to use them to conduct their malicious attacks.

Smartphones make QR code scanning easy. By simply pointing the phone’s camera at the QR code, consumers can access promotions, see restaurant menus, access digital tickets, and more. However, not all QR codes are legitimate.

The FBI has issued warnings about cyber criminals tampering with QR codes to steal users’ login and financial information. After scanning a QR code, victims can be directed to a website disguised as legitimate but that gathers identity information and inserts digital infections.
