Abundant Birth Project Launches in Riverside

The California Abundant Birth Project is a guaranteed income program that provides cash during pregnancy. It was developed by Expecting Justice and the community to make birthing healthier and safer for the people facing the greatest risk during their pregnancy journey. If you have clients or patients in Riverside County, have them call (415) 980-2873 or email support@abundantbirthproject.aidkit.org to see if they are eligible.

Be A Part of the Black Joy Parade in Oakland

Held annually in Oakland, CA, the Black Joy Parade is presented by Black Infant Health (BIH). The parade celebrates the Black experience and community's contribution to history and culture with its signature parade and celebration, partnerships, and event. This year, the event will be held on Sunday, February 25. Black Infant Health is looking for community agencies providing Black Maternal and Infant services to become vendors in the Lil' Joy Health and Wellness Resource space. Meet TaNefer Lumukanda Camara


A lactation and infant feeding specialist and doula, TaNefer served on the California Preterm Birth Initiative for 4 years. A queen, a goddess, and a creative, TaNefer told us why it was important to be invested in raising her voice as a birth justice advocate as well as her lactation consultancy practice that caters to Black communities by being rooted in Black culture.

The National Partnership for Women & Families (NPWF) is seeking paid pre-testers Listening to Mothers (LTM) survey. The national survey seeks to hear from moms and birthing people directly about their experiences before, during, and after pregnancy and/or birth.
