Best Margarita Contest

BEST MARGARITA CONTEST CONTEST INFORMATION AND RULES:

REGISTRATION & ENTRY FEE

Entry Fee: $100

Must register for the competition by paying the $100 registration fee by May 10, 2022.

COMPETITION PRIZES

1st Place Trophy & $500 check for a charity of their choice. The winner will be presented the trophy and check on the mainstage or the festival. Also, the winner will have brag-ging rights for having "Houston's Best Margarita" at the Houston Margarita Festival; and a big trophy to prove it.

COMPETITION VOTING

- The Best Margarita Competition is a "people's choice award." Festival attendees will vote for the bar/restaurant that has the best margarita in the competition, whoever receives the most votes will be crowned the winner.

WHAT IS PROVIDED BY THE FESTIVAL

- The festival provides 12 -18 liter bottles of tequila to each competition participant to mix in their signature margaritas (the festival will buy requested brands, unless a tequila sponsor is providing the tequila for the competition).

- The festival provides each competitor a 10X10 tent and booth space to serve customers during the competition

- The festival will provide at least one staff person to take drink tickets from attendees and help serve drinks.

- The festival provides 9 oz. cups and ice tor the competition

COMPETITION RULES

- Competition margaritas are 3 drink tickets or one complimentary drink ticket; no cash can be accepted for margaritas.

*Competition Participants are not allowed to receive revenue for margaritas, nor for participating in the competition.

- Competition Participants cannot sell food, drink, or other items in the competition booth. However, drink pairs

such as chips and salsa may be given to customers.

- Competition Participants must have their staff mix their signature margaritas. The staff is encouraged to interact

with customers to encourage voting and to receive feedback about their product.

- Competition Participants must decorate their tent/booth space with corporate branding, and have staff wear corpo-

rate shirts to help attendees identify who's margarita they are sampling as well as market the business.

- Competition Participants must report to the main stage at 6:30pm for the winner to be announced.

Set-up time: 1:00pm-2:00pm The competition will be from 2:230 to 6:00 pm.

Parking: Competition Participants will be allowed to pork 1 vehicle in the festival's lot at no cost (please carpool if necessary. Additional festival parking is located across the stress or the Fonde rec center. Parking in that lot is not free.

Admission: Competition Participants will be allowed to have 4 staff members admitted into the festival at no cost. Staff is to assist with mixing the margaritas for the competition. Please provide the list or staff members to the competition coordinator, and check-with the competition coordinator or the VIP entry tent to receive access. All staff members must be at least 21 years old.

Please have fun and maintain a friendly spirit amongst competitors.
