FC Richmond's Elite Teams Join the ECNL Regional League
FC Richmond is excited to announce that we will be joining the ECNL Regional League in the fall of 2022! FC Richmond U11-U19 Magic and Mystx Elite teams will now participate in the Virginia Premier Soccer League (VPSL), which has been licensed as the official ECNL Regional League in Virginia.  This represents a new and exciting direction for FC Richmond. The CCL has served FC Richmond teams well since 1997, however, there have been numerous changes to the competition and required travel over the last two years that have forced us to reevaluate the best option for our families. The ECNL Regional League includes many clubs familiar to us including Beach FC, Virginia Legacy, Tidewater Sharks, Richmond Kickers, Richmond Strikers, and SOCA, along with many top Northern Virginia clubs. We will have much more regionalized travel while playing in very competitive games. Through league play and a playoff format, teams will have the opportunity to advance to regional and national competitions.
Our U13-U19 Classic teams will also be moving out of the CCL West Regional League. While we have enjoyed our two years in the CCL West Regional League, the reality is that the club-to-club option for our Classic teams has not been ideal, with not enough games, gaps in the schedules, and inequality of competition. We are moving into a more localized, team-based league that will offer more local competition with less travel, more appropriate competition with multiple divisions, and fewer gaps in the schedule. Details and more information will be announced in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
Our U11-U12 Classic teams and our U9 & U10 Futures teams will continue to compete in the ADSL (Advanced Development Soccer League).

Coach Spotlight
"Beyond the Game" Player of the Month
Jordan Jones is a senior at James River High School's Leadership Program and has been a member of FC Richmond for over 10 years now. Jordan currently plays in our Recreational program, but grew up playing both PDP and Magic. Jordan recently hosted a 3v3 soccer tournament for his senior Capstone project. All proceeds will be used to create a scholarship for a graduating high school senior. Jordan said that he really enjoyed being able to support a cause that was close to his heart, while also involving the sport he grew up loving. When asking Jordan why he chose to help provide a student with a scholarship he said, "Education is empowerment, advancement, and fulfillment. Without it we're just mindless." This scholarship will be used to directly help a student in the Midlothian area and he is extremely pleased to select the scholarship recipient. Jordan Jones is going Beyond the Game by helping provide the foundation of education to a deserving student in our community.
