QUEEN’s STUDENT DIVERSITY PROJECT (QSDP) - CONFERENCE
QSDP is a student-led organization founded in October of 2017, aiming to increase visible and invisible diversity in our student population. We do this by encouraging students of diverse backgrounds to pursue their post-secondary studies at Queen’s!

Many of our initiatives are targeted towards prospective students in grades 11 & 12 to enlighten them about what Queen’s University can offer. The QSDP was founded on the basis that all students should feel welcome to the university and focuses on the socio-economic and cultural factors that would deter students from “diverse areas” and “low-income families” to consider Queens.

QSDP will be hosting our fourth annual conference on “Pushing Boundaries; Finding Your Voice at Queen’s.” The conference will take place on October 23rd via Zoom from 1-6 PM EST. Students and teachers can look forward to panel discussions featuring current Queen’s students and alumni, along with other interactive activities to encourage discussion on the various important topics. In addition, our guest speakers will use their personal experiences to depict their academic and social transitions after coming to Queen’s. Topics that will be covered include past and present inequities at Queen’s and the improvements being made as well as the resources available for financial barriers, clubs, and educational hurdles at the university.

Students can register for the conference at
SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION & RESPONSE SERVICES - event
We all have a part to play in changing the cultural and sexist norms that lead to gender-based violence. Queen’s Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Services (SVPRS) and The Sexual Assault Centre Kingston (SACK) have partnered up as part of an Engaging Men on Campus Series to bring you a virtual screening of "The Bystander Moment" featuring Jackson Katz. Following the screening, there will be a brief discussion where you can share your thoughts with our panel. Let's work together to break down gender stereotypes and learn how to become active bystanders and inspiring leaders in our community. To learn more and to register, visit the link below!
