ACEC OKLAHOMA members. We have had an incredibly busy and productive January!
We began our month with PAC donations to state legislators who have been supportive of ACEC policies. We had two rounds of disbursement: one in Tulsa, hosted at BKL, and one session in Oklahoma City, hosted at CP&Y. These productive sessions allowed our members to get a great amount of time to personally interact with legislators who vote on items of importance to us.
Thanks to your generous support we supported the following sitting legislators: Senator Darcy Jech, Senator Roger Thompson, Senator Bill Coleman, Senator Brent Howard, Senator Michael Brooks, Senator Chuck Hall, Speaker Charles McCall, Representative Ryan Martinez, Representative Avery Frix, Representative Kyle Hilbert, Representative Bashore, Representative Mike Osburn and Minority Leader Cyndi Munson.
Special thanks to our PAC board and Stacey Loefler for her leadership as outgoing PAC chair. If you are interested in helping support our PAC our would like to learn more about our PAC board or process, please contact our incoming PAC Chair,
David Neuhauser. As a reminder, your donation of $250 or more allows you to have a voice on who we contribute to in the future. You can contribute here.
Our quarterly membership meeting featured guest speaker, Representative Avery Frix, the chair of the Oklahoma State House's Transportation Committee. Rep. Frix provided a great run down of transportation news in our upcoming legislative session beginning February 7th.
ACEC National continues to work on a PPP/FAR Credit Clause fix. House sponsors for the bipartisan legislation include Reps. Anthony Brown (D-MO) and John Katko (R-NY). We will be working with our federal delegation to find co-sponsors for the legislation. We will keep you apprised of any movement with the legislation and may need your assistance in reaching to our members of Congress.
Finally, news regarding our 2021 EEA Ceremony and an update on Leadership for Engineers is provided below. Please, follow along during this exciting portion of the year. Be on the lookout for legislative alerts as we move into the 2022 session.
