PATRIOTS PATH NEWS & RECAPS
NORTH CAROLINA IS A GREAT PLACE
TO JOB SEARCH
In April, Apple unveiled plans to build a campus and engineering hub in the Research Triangle, committing more than $1 billion in investments and creating at least 3,000 new jobs for the area. Now Nike is looking to come to Chapel Hill.

All of this comes after the announcement that Google has chosen Durham, North Carolina as its engineering hub, which is expected to generate 1,000 jobs. In fact, they already have job postings listed on Glassdoor.

Add Credit Karma to the list as they prepare to move their East Coast HQ to Charlotte along with 600 new jobs and you have a strong economic forecast across the state.

If you are transitioning from active duty service to the civilian workforce, be sure to check out all of the new and existing companies that call North Carolina home.

VETERANS BRIDGE HOME
A NEW "HOME" FOR ALL THINGS VETERAN
One of our key partners, Veterans Bridge Home, unveiled their new Charlotte HQ on Monday alongside corporate sponsors Lowe's, the Carolina Panthers, and the Charlotte Hornets. The 10,000-square-foot facility has co-working spaces to house other Veteran resources and a lounge where military families can receive valuable services from employment assistance to housing and benefits. This new community center will also be a place for Veterans to come together for sharing stories and strengthening bonds.
CONGRATULATIONS!

UPCOMING EVENTS
VIRTUAL SPEED NETWORKING
AN OPPORTUNITY FOR EMPLOYERS
At the end of April, we hosted another successful virtual speed networking event to connect employers and veterans. Zoom breakout rooms function as the 'over to table' conversation we are used to in person. Still personal and still a great opportunity to connect one on one to discuss opportunities and skills, we will continue offering this sought-after event virtually throughout 2021.

For employers, there is an opportunity to have your company in the spotlight during these coveted events. In between break-out sessions, one employer per event serves as the co-host. In addition to facilitating the conversation in between break-out sessions, the employer co-host also has the opportunity to share more about their company and answer questions.

Are you interested in serving as a networking event co-host?
If so, email Patriots Path Executive Director Noël McCall:
