August 8-12th, 2022
There is a thread weaving through the Scriptures this week of a call to live our lives as God’s children in a manner that is faithful to the Gospel and offers justice to all.
Monday, August 8
Jeremiah 23:23-29
This passage reminds us that God is not watching us from a distance, but is near to us always. It also reminds us that we are called to speak God’s word faithfully. We should proclaim the Good News of God’s love every day to everyone.

Tuesday, August 9
Psalm 82
As children of the Most High, we are to act with justice in the world.

Wednesday, August 10
Hebrews 11:29 – 12:2
Reading about the heroes of faith serves as an encouragement to us to persevere in our faith, reminding us that in addition to their witness, we have Jesus, the perfect model of faithful endurance.

Thursday, August 11
Luke 12:49-56
Following Jesus and living out our faith in the world is not always easy. Jesus tells us himself that the way of the cross may lead us to places of hostility and rejection, even from those we love.

Friday, August 12

As we come to the end of the week, we pray that we have been found faithful to what God has asked of us and thank God for remaining faithful to us.
