Leisurely Walk
Take a walk with us on the paved trail that starts near the side door of the lower level at church and takes us to Drace Park on Cedar Valley Road at Clayton Road. Meet out front of church by the kitchen. [We have another close by mini-walk we want to show you too!]

Saturday

Worship with us this Sunday!
Worship with us at 10am out back at church – or on Facebook Live or later on YouTube. Our scriptures will be Psalm 20 (God’s commitment to us) and Mark 4:26-34 where Jesus teaches about seeds and growth. What are we planting and producing as a church?
Our Annual Congregational Meeting: Leadership will take place immediately following worship to elect new leaders and to commission them alongside continuing leaders. We will also be sharing updates from our Covid Team and Church Council about this Transition Time and worship plans.

As always, we welcome your gifts of non-perishable food items for our hungry neighbors. The Give-A-Meal Table is located in the main entryway. Circle of Concern has let us know that their critical needs right now are cereal, soup, canned veggies, snacks and jelly.

Since it’s LGBTQ+ Pride Month and St Louis Pride was canceled again this year, please consider wearing rainbow-colored, neon or other bright colors this Sunday!

Some details for Outdoor Worship (2nd Sundays May-August; Rain Plan is 3rd Sunday)
·      We will wear masks and practice physical distancing.
·      We won’t have food or drink.
·      Bathrooms are available for emergencies.
·      Please wear a mask over your mouth and nose. Masks will allow us to be able to sing -- or you may choose to hum if you’re more comfortable. Masks will be provided if needed.
·      Please bring a lawn chair. You may sit on the grass or parking lot. We will have padded chairs scattered on the asphalt if you don’t bring a chair. We will have a few pop-up canopies to provide limited shade. You may want to bring an umbrella, blanket or hat.
·      Please consider bringing gifts of non-perishable food items for our hungry neighbors. There will be a few tables set up to receive your generosity. Ushers will help … we could use a few more ushers if you are available. Please let us know.

View
The other day, Dexter and I saw a Google Maps Street View Car in our neighborhood – very exciting! Though this two minute video is a few years old, it is very exciting to think about all the places you can see because of the adventurous spirit and the drive for diversity and unity so many of us have. Have you ever searched for your own street and/or a place in the world you’ve visited or always wanted to see?

Ponder
And this is it. This is the life we get here on earth. We get to give away what we receive. We get to believe in each other. We get to forgive and be forgiven. We get to love imperfectly. And we never know what effect it will have for years to come. And all of it…all of it is completely worth it. ~Nadia Bolz-Weber
Dear Parkway UCC,
My name is Cherie, and I am a Camp MoVal supporter. Conference Council is in a period of discerning the future of MoVal; one possibility is selling it. If you would like to participate in the discerning process, your registration and attendance at this Saturday's zoom meeting is imperative. You must pre-register for the zoom meeting. The first meeting was recorded, but subsequent meetings will not be recorded. At the Fall Conference Gathering, a vote will be taken to determine the fate of MoVal. This is your chance to be informed and have a say.
Here is the link to register for this Saturday's meeting: You are invited to a Zoom meeting.
When: Jun 12, 2021 09:00 AM Central Time (US and Canada)
Register in advance for this meeting:
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Blessings,
Cherie
