COVID Hotline at UHS
Did you know UHS now has a COVID customer service hotline? When you call our main phone number, (510) 642-2000, you'll be given the option to hear about vaccine information, badge status, and commencement requirements. We also have dorm isolation staff you can speak with and staff who can answer questions about the quarantine process and testing positive.

Johnson & Johnson One-Dose Vaccine Clinics May 5, 6, 12, & 13
|
|
You can now book a vaccine appointment through eTang for 5/5, 5/6, 5/12, and 5/13 between the hours of 9-11am and 1-3pm for the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The clinics will be held at the Pauley Ballroom. We will have drop-in appointments available too, but we ask that you please make an appointment if possible.
UHS is strongly encouraging anyone still on campus to get a vaccine before traveling home. It's important to ensure both your own protection and those around you. The J&J vaccine is ideal as it's a single-dose - one shot and you're done! Of the mild, short-term side affects that are common with all three vaccines, J&J has reported the least amount of these mild side affects (such as slight pain at the injection site, mild tiredness, and feeling achy).

Nutrition Blog: Seasonal Spring and Summer Produce
|
As the weather gets warmer and we all prepare for summer, let’s take some time to appreciate the return of spring and summer produce. Shopping seasonally not only can help with saving money when buying groceries, but it can also boost your nutritional intake as you explore and consume a greater variety of produce. Each fruit and vegetable has its own unique nutritional profile, so taking advantage of the new produce that will become available can introduce different micronutrients, like vitamins and minerals, while also keeping you excited to stay nourished and motivated this season! Personally, I always look forward to the return of papaya and watermelon, as they are tasty and packed with water, potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C.
With new produce becoming available in spring and summer, I find myself making Greek Yogurt Fruit Salads since they are quick to make and contain protein, energy, and so much flavor. Many more student-friendly recipes can be found on our recipe website.
