Dear Parents,
Third grade did a great job again this week on the Georgia Milestones. The rest of the students did an awesome job being quiet in the hallways, making sure that the third graders were not interrupted. We have amazing students here at Head. Fourth grade will begin testing on Monday.
I am in need of some help from parents. It is becoming a safety issue with so many parents arriving to school after 8:40. The problem occurs when we still have buses in the bus lane (which we often do) and the car rider line has ended. All cars must park in the gravel lot because, cars are not allowed in the bus lane when students are loading and unloading. We have about 40 cars a day coming in after the 8:40 bell. We do not have that many parking spots and there is not much room for cars to come and go. This is causing a traffic jam. I am pleading with parents to arrive to school by 8:40. That way, students can get to class, are settled, and ready for instruction to begin promptly at 8:50. I appreciate all of us working together to ensure the safety of our students by arriving at school prior to 8:40.
This coming week is teacher appreciation week. Thank you to all the parents that donated to the PTA so they could provide breakfast, lunch and a special treat bag to all our teachers. We have fabulous, hard-working teachers that go above and beyond each and every day. Please encourage your child to write thank you notes to honor their teachers this coming week.
Have a great weekend! Don’t forget to have your child read every day!
