Greetings!

Change doesn't come easy - and it's never made by one person acting alone.

It takes a village. It also takes the courage to imagine a better future and the persistence to make it happen.

At LA Civil Rights, we know that a better Los Angeles is within reach. We also know that we can't do this work alone. That's why we've created opportunities for individuals and organizations to get involved in our work, from job postings to community partnerships. Los Angeles is filled with incredible change-makers and organizations that serve their communities. We want to help the people who help the people.

In this newsletter, you'll find different ways to get involved in our mission and funding opportunities for community work. Whether as an individual or a community-based organization, I hope you'll join us in this effort for equity and justice in Los Angeles.

Keep the faith and keep the fight,

- Capri Maddox

LA Civil Rights is hiring!

We are currently seeking qualified individuals to join our team in Special Investigator I and Special Investigator II positions. Special Investigators will investigate violations of the city's Civil and Human Rights Law as part of our Discrimination Enforcement team. Our department has the authority to investigate discrimination in private sector commerce, education, employment and housing and level penalties against violators. We will be launching the Discrimination Enforcement program later this year.

Investigators are essential to this work. You will be the first line of defense against discrimination in Los Angeles, and helping us build a more just and inclusive city, one case at a time.

If you or someone you know is interested, learn more through the links below.

Free Internet Access thru LAUSD
Want to get online? Let LA Unified School District (LAUSD) help you get there!

Just in time for back to school, LAUSD has a program to give students and their families no-cost internet service, made possible by federal funding.

Parents/guardians can log on to device.lausd.net and answer a few questions. LAUSD will then check with contracted service providers to determine services available. The provider reaches out to eligible families to assist with establishing service, and LAUSD covers all costs.
