Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Open Mic Celebration on January 15th


Please join us as we honor MLK Jr. on Monday, January 15, 2024. We will meet in the San Ramon City Hall Rotunda with a program from 2-4pm, followed by a reception from 4-5pm. We will be honoring SRVUSD's very own Demetrius Ball, principal of California High School. We invite students, staff, parents/caregivers and community members to join us at this special celebration. In particular, we will offer an open mic so that you can discuss one word that best represents MLK Jr.'s work and legacy to you. 


The San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs is proud to co-sponsor the event, in partnership with the San Ramon Valley Diversity Coalition, SRVUSD, the City of San Ramon, Town of Danville, PFLAG Danville-San Ramon Valley, Diablo Black Men's Group, Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, Rewire Community, National Alliance on Mental Illness-Contra Costa, Supervisor Candace Anderson, San Ramon Chamber of Commerce, The Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association - Tri-Valley Chapter and the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County.

The Cal High Counseling team invites you to join us for a webinar on Thursday, January 25th from 6:00-7:00 pm to learn about the basics of Post-High School Planning. While this information is geared toward 9th and 10th grade families, anyone hoping to learn the basics about pathways for students after they graduate high school are welcome to join.

Community Book Night


Join your Cal High Librarians and your Cal High community in conversation about the novel The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson on February 15 at 6pm in the Cal High library. From the publisher: "Author Tiffany D. Jackson ramps up the horror and tackles America’s history and legacy of racism in this YA novel following a biracial teenager as her Georgia high school hosts its first integrated prom." This is intended to be a partner read with a student and trusted adult. Students, grab a parent, coach, an aunt, or teacher and get reading!

50th Anniversary Edition of the Cal High Yearbook (2024)


1) Purchasing a yearbook:  Please check this list (link here) to see if you have purchased a yearbook (press <ctl><f> to find your name). A Yearbook Only option is available on Future Fund (link here) for $140 between September 1st and January 9th, 2024. After January 10th, Ms. Brindley must have a final count for the yearbook order and will be selling yearbooks for cash or check only in WL-1 until all the ordered yearbooks have been sold. The past two years we have sold out the yearbooks, so please DO NOT WAIT to purchase a yearbook.


2) Seniors!!!: Make sure you are included in the yearbook. Please refer to this letter for important Senior due dates and links concerning Portraits (Nov 9th is the new last day) and ads (Nov 27th is the last day).

PTSA Membership

Parent membership is $16, Students $10 and Cal High Teachers/Staff $8. Donations to PTSA can also be done by check if you want to avoid the platform fee of FF. Any students interested in trying out for a Winter or Spring sport can check the Cal High athletic website.

Spring sports tryouts begin on Monday, February 5!  All athletes who try out must have an athletic clearance on file. Visit the Cal High Athletics website for more information about the clearance process and each team's tryout dates/times. Go Grizzlies!

Instrumental Music Boosters

CHS Instrumental Music Boosters is a non-profit organization that fundraises to support the Instrumental Music Program at Cal High.

*Call for Booster Board Member *: We need a detailed-oriented parent volunteer to step into the Booster Board Treasurer role by the end of June, 2024. We need our new Treasurer to begin job-shadowing now in order to be fully ready to assume responsibility for this important position. Fall Non District Course Deadline - January 19, 2024

Parents- if your students took a Non District Course during 1st semester- The deadline to submit the Fall NDC transcripts for credits is January 19th, 2024. Both the Application to Place Credit form and the NDC Official transcript has to be submitted by the deadline. Please know late submissions will not be accepted. 


– Kindly follow these 2 steps- if the NDC credits are to be transferred on the CHS transcript 

1.  Submit this Application to Place Credit form, after the completion of the course. (NOTE- Paper Copies of "Application to Place Credit" will not be accepted.)


Upload the completed form, signed by both - the student and parent(s). 

Section 4, Question 3 of the Google form is where you need to upload the signed form.

CHS transcript will be updated once this form is received.

2. Submit the Official NDC Transcript from the institution to the Registrar’s office by the deadline. (Transcripts emailed from a student/parent are not considered official and will not be accepted)


Transcripts can be sent to the registrar via fax, email or by postal mail. 


Check here to see if your NDC Transcript has been received and or if grade has been added to Cal High transcript.
