CPRC Area Agency on Aging 2024-2028 Area Plan Survey

The Central Pines Regional Council Area Agency on Aging is seeking input as we are developing the 2024-2028 Area Plan. We are specifically interested in information about the needs of aging adults, caregivers, or adults with disabilities in your county. There are 4 target areas in the survey, including: local needs assessment, livability, emerging issues, and information availability. The survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete and will be available until February 29, 2024. Printed copies are available by emailing aprice@centralpinesnc.gov or calling 919-558-2708.

Triangle Transportation Choices FY25-26 RFP Open!

The FY25-26 Request for Proposals (RFPs) for the Triangle Transportation Choices is now open! Applications for all 3 RFPs are due to Central Pines Regional Council (CPRC) by 5:00pm on February 12, 2024. Triangle Transportation Choices is a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program in the seven-county Triangle region of North Carolina. The program aims to reduce commuter reliance on single-occupancy vehicles (SOV) by encouraging healthier, lower-cost, greener and more sustainable options such as carpool, vanpool, public transit, biking, walking, teleworking, and flexible work weeks.

For the first time in the history of the Triangle Transportation Choices program, a 2 year pilot RFP is being released. The goal of changing to a 2-year RFP is to increase the efficiency of the process for CPRC staff and reduce the burden on service providers/grantees to develop applications every year. There are three different RFPs being offered under the Triangle Transportation Choice Program: Traditional, Innovative Projects, and Equity and Inclusion Initiatives.

Planning Considerations for Cyber Incidents: Guidance for Emergency Managers

This guide, developed by FEMA and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, is intended to help state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) emergency management personnel collaboratively prepare for a cyber incident and support the development of a cyber incident response plan or annex. Emergency management personnel play a central role in preparing for and responding to cyber incidents in their jurisdictions. Although emergency managers are not expected to be technical experts on cyber incidents, they do need to understand and prepare for the potential impacts of a cyber incident on their communities as well as on their emergency operations.

Take NCDEQ's Solid Waste and Materials Management Survey

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking feedback from stakeholders and the public to develop an action-based, achievable, and inclusive Solid Waste and Materials Management Plan for the 2024-2034 cycle. One significant step toward achieving this goal is to survey the various stakeholders of North Carolina on elements of the proposed plan, keeping in mind that the North Carolina General Statutes require the plan to focus on education, public participation, and waste reduction goals.

The deadline to complete the survey is January 31, 2024.
