New Associate Priest
New Associate Priest Introduction:

June 30th will be Fr. Matt's last day with our parishes and school as he embarks on his next short-term assignment before active duty as an Army Chaplain. Fr. Ben will be joining us July 1st as his replacement. Please read below to learn a bit about Fr. Ben!

Hi there! I'm Fr. Ben, and I look forward to serving you as associate pastor. I was ordained one year after Fr. Matt Faucett, who you already know well, and I consider myself blessed to be able to serve your community after he moves on to his next assignment. I'm from Oshkosh, and went through Lourdes Academy for all my schooling through high school. After I graduated, I went to MSOE for one year, then I transferred into seminary. I earned my bachelor's in philosophy from St. Mary's University in Winona, MN, then my M.Div. from Mundelein Seminary in Illinois. Covid hit right at the end of my time in seminary, and we had to finish our studies (and graduate) remotely. So yes, technically I did get my Master's degree in the mail, but no I am not a mail-order priest! The Diocese of Green Bay has always been my home, and most of my family still lives here too. I'm not ashamed to admit I fit into most millennial-Catholic stereotypes--I love Theology on Tap, philosophy, science, Bible studies, audiobooks, YouTubers like Matt Fradd, and learning about classic spiritualities. Other than that, my three biggest interests would be Star Wars, Nintendo, and Chipotle. But we'll have plenty of time to get acquainted; in the meantime I ask you to pray for Fr. Matt and for me, and I look forward to being a disciple with you!

Spring MAP Information
Spring MAP Dates: April 21st - May 10th

To prepare for testing day:
  1. Make sure that your child is well rested on school days and especially the day of a test. Children who are tired are less able to pay attention in class or handle the demands of a test.
  2. Give your child a well-rounded diet. A healthy body leads to a healthy, active mind.
  3. Remind your child that they need to bring a good book to read in the testing room once they've completed their MAP test.
  4. Avoid any unnecessary absences from school during the MAP testing period.

2022 End of Year Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is Back STARTING NEXT WEEK!!!

We are excited to announce the return of the in-person Scholastic Book Fair! The Book Fair will run NEXT WEEK from Monday, May 2nd through Friday, May 6th. The Book Fair will be located on the second-floor landing at the top of the learning stairs. Book Fair hours are 3:00-4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Look for a Book Fair flyer and information on eWallet coming home this week!

We are still in need of volunteers for the Book Fair. If you are able to help volunteer to make the book fair possible, please use the link below:

What is eWallet, you ask???

eWallet is Scholastic Book Fairs' digital payment option! eWallet is a safe, convenient alternative to cash, offered with most of our flexible Book Fair options. It's easy to create an eWallet for your student. Simply add funds or invite family and friends to contribute. Then, shop in-person at the Book Fair or online through the Virtual Book Fair where you'll discover over 5,000 products including Book Fair exclusives, new releases, and value packs. After the Fair, remaining eWallet funds are not returned to a credit card but instead, become a gift card balance and can be used online with Scholastic or used to fund an eWallet for a future Book Fair. (Be sure to sign in with the same email used to create the eWallet.)

NEW THIS YEAR: All teachers have an eWallet created in their name to allow families to contribute to help support their student’s classroom library. We are doing this to replace teacher wish lists this year at the request of Scholastic. Teachers will be sharing this link with their classroom families for those interested in supporting.

For more information on all things Book Fair, please visit the Notre Dame of De Pere Scholastic Book Fair homepage:

We will see you at the Book Fair!

Classroom Placement - Parent Input
Teachers will begin developing the class lists for the next school year. A great deal of time and thought is put into creating the class lists, and our focus is always on every student’s advantage to be part of a well-balanced classroom. A balanced classroom has students with various academic abilities, an equal ratio of boys and girls, and takes students special needs into consideration. When placing students in classrooms, teachers also take into consideration any conflicts of personalities between students, what type of atmosphere students learn best and ultimately what is in the best interest of all of our students and staff at Notre Dame.

Parent input is accepted in the process of assigning students to classrooms. If you wish to provide input, the deadline to do so is Friday, April 29th. Teachers will then finalize the class lists, and they will be confidential until they are posted right before school starts.
At least one of the 3 categories must be filled in for consideration.
