Beatrice Farmers Market

2021 Plan: **NOTE THE LOCATION CHANGE**
First Market >> Thursday, May 20th
Last Market >> Thursday, October 14th
Location: 318 North 6th Street, 6th & High Street, Centenary United Methodist Church Parking Lot

**Why, This had always been our alternative site, we sought it out with County Cookin' Cafe being up for sale as the owners seek to retire and the potential for displacement that the sale could bring. I thank all of those who reached out, the majority spoke in favor of the change. We will be extra diligent in getting the word out on the change.

We will be partnering with Tara Dunker and Nebraska Extension for this year's market.

Nebraska Cottage Food Certification
In 2019, Nebraska passed a bill that allows individuals to sell homemade foods already authorized for sale at farmers’ markets directly to consumers (ie: from home, fairs, festivals, other public events or online for pick-up or delivery). While this expansion to the cottage food law does not allow indirect sales (wholesale, retail stores, etc.), Nebraska producers can now sell non-potentially hazardous food outside of the farmers’ market season with no sales limit, as long as certain parameters are met, which does include taking a class.

Southeast Nebraska Digital Farmers’ Market

Hello,

As a local producer serving Jefferson, Gage and/or Saline counties, we'd love to feature you on our Southeast Nebraska Digital Farmers Market. While the site and related food coalition are still in their initial phases, the digital market is meant to connect consumers to your products and services throughout the year in one easy-to-access place. We look forward to continuing to improve the site and increase its visibility, and we hope you see the value in getting in on the ground floor.

Because you provide an essential service during these COVID-19 times, we are offering to display your information for free throughout 2021. After this year, we will potentially charge a $10-20 annual fee to display your up-to-date information. These funds would then be used to further our food coalition efforts in the area. The website will be maintained by Nebraska Extension in Gage County and will be promoted throughout the year via KWBE radio spots, newspaper articles, and social media posts to help generate consumer traffic.
If you would like to be featured on this website alongside your friends and neighbors working in local food, please use this online form https://forms.gle/jU94fHEMMBDpm8gm9.

Please direct your questions or corrections to Tara Dunker at tara.dunker@unl.edu.

If you’re already listed as a local farmer or vendor on the digital market page, thank you for being involved! Please take this opportunity to review your vendor page to make sure all the information is still accurate and complete.

Everyone stay tuned for more information to come regarding Southeast Nebraska Food Partners, the local food coalition we hope you’ll consider joining to stay connected and informed.
