Hello Huskies!
This week we officially kicked off “Senior Season” with our three senior volleyball players, Gabby, Julia, and Ashley closing out their season with a senior celebration on Thursday. What a joyful event with beautiful speeches by our dedicated coaches Alison Stagnaro and Rachel Nagel. We are so proud of our seniors!
This past Tuesday, Faculty and staff had the opportunity to participate in professional learning together. Thanks to Matt Blanchette for arranging the session with Monique Marshall, an innovator and thought leader in anti-bias/anti-racist education, to work with the faculty and staff on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) learning. We started by thinking about our own identity markers and interacting with each other to share more about ourselves. Monique also shared a variety of ways for schools to center the students and find common ground across all constituencies. The best part of our learning was that all the activities that we did we were able to use right away with our students.
Thanks to all of our wonderful parents and guardians who attended our first Family Association meeting on Wednesday. We are so grateful for your time and energy as we navigate another year of parents-at-a-distance yet still connected and eager to help out. Our goal with the Family Association is to provide an inclusive group of parents and guardians the opportunity to feel heard, involved and engaged, primarily through community-building activities, classroom support and fundraising. We hope you all will volunteer for school events and duties both on and off campus, promote a “positive spirit” within the school community, and support the Schools in a meaningful way. We will meet monthly to share updates from the administration and to allow families to express views, triumphs and challenges. We hope you can attend an upcoming meeting to share your ideas, thoughts and comments. This is YOUR Family Association and we appreciate your partnership.
Last week we shared our 2020-2021 Annual Report which thanks all of our donors and volunteers throughout the school year for their philanthropy and support. I hope you’ve had a chance to review it and know how sincerely we appreciate your commitment to our three incredible schools. This week, I asked everyone in our community to support our school through the Husky Fund. Please help us get to 100% participation by making a donation of any size. Together, we remain HUSKY STRONG.
Go Huskies!

Family Association - Volunteer Signups: Calling all volunteers! There are many opportunities to get involved with the Family Association at Rolling Hills Prep, Renaissance and REACH Schools. The Family Association works in partnership with the Schools to support our mission, and all parents and guardians are automatically a member. Even though parents are not physically on campus at this time due to COVID, there are many ways to connect and get involved. We welcome and encourage you to attend meetings and participate in whatever capacity works for you and your schedule. Volunteering is a great way to get to know the Husky community and your involvement in our events and activities, no matter how much time you are able to give, is greatly appreciated. Please let us know your area of interest by completing the volunteer form below.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
In the spirit of Mental Health Awareness, we spoke briefly this week with our students about mental health and mental illness. It may be interesting to note what a few big names such as - Leonardo DeCaprio, Michael Phelps, Naomi Osaka and Beyonce have in common - they have all outwardly shared their struggle with mental health wellness. Yet, there is a stigma that is sometimes associated with our need for support, as if it is a sign of weakness. Please talk with your children and reiterate that in fact, it takes great courage, insight and strength to recognize our need for support. Some of the protective factors that cushion us from anxiety and depression are simple healthy habits such as healthy food, good sleep hygiene and talking about your feelings with someone you trust. In our small community, we hope that every student has at least one trusted adult that they can lean on. Growing up is complicated, but it can be a little less stressful with a support system in place.
Be well,
Christina Morse
Director of Counseling and Wellness

Each year, we release our annual report to highlight our fundraising efforts and acknowledge the generosity of our community from the previous school year.
Appropriately titled Husky Strong, this report recognizes the resiliency of our community throughout a challenging year. As with most independent schools, our tuition does not cover the cost of our programming and the donations from our community help close that gap and ensure our schools' ability to educate radiant minds for years to come.
