The time to register is now!

Saturday, March 13

The North Bay Science Discovery Day is a FREE event (usually held at the Sonoma County Fair Grounds). While previous events did not require registration, this year is virtual (still free), so pre-registration is needed. Registration is easy, just click on the link to our website and follow the simple steps. You may choose as many activities as you like. Check out our list of exhibitors below.
Meet a Few Exhibitors
What are sine waves and why are they everywhere?
Join Keysight Technologies at 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., or 1:00 p.m. (pacific) to learn more about sine waves, the most common waves, found in electricity and rotating objects. Use a pendulum to explore repeating motions and discover where they exist in the world.
Why are there different kinds of bees?
At 11:00 a.m. (pacific), youth will take part in interactive activities to gain an understanding of how bees have adapted to a variety of ecosystems. Youth will discover how temperature and light affect bees’ biological needs to pollinate and forage for food. Youth will also have access to distance learning programs including humble honey bees, do the waggle, and others!
How do we animate still objects and images to create the illusion of movement?
At 12:00 p.m., join the Charles M. Schulz Museum for the art of animation. Animation is a method to make drawn, painted, or CGI imagines to appear moving. Join us to learn the science behind animation with several hands-on projects you can do at home.
