Heather Dumas - U14 Alpine & Sports Psychology Coach
We're thrilled to share some exciting news about the incredible strides our coaching staff has taken in enhancing the performance and well-being of our Alpine U14/16/18 groups.
Heather has emerged as an integral part of our team, spearheading the launch of our sports psychology and in-season physical conditioning program.

"Heather's dedication and expertise have been instrumental in shaping these programs, and her commitment to the success of our athletes is truly commendable," states Troy Price. As a result, she has seamlessly integrated into our coaching staff, bringing valuable insights and skills to the forefront.

We are confident that Heather's contributions will have a lasting positive impact on our athletes' performance and overall experience. We look forward to seeing the continued success of our teams under her guidance.

Devo Program Update
As we prepare for our Devo season journey, it’s a great time as parents and coaches to reflect on what we should expect of our children and how best to support them throughout the upcoming season. New beginnings bring with them a lot of uncertainty and nerves as our athletes and parents look forward with great anticipation to starting the new season, meeting new friends and teammates, and hoping they get a terrific coach who can mold them into a better skier and person.
The Snowbasin Ski Team Devo program is a remarkable collaboration of parents and coaches working together to build a love for skiing in our children while developing foundational skills. Repetition and time on snow are key to both endeavors.

We encourage parents to look at Devo as the stepping stone of growth towards our YSL and Intro to Freeride programs. Our coaches recognize the level of commitment so many of these athletes make toward achieving whatever their goals are. Our Ski Team program is there to support them every step of the way.

We ask our coaches to make every day count and keep our athlete interactions positive and inspiring as they build team members' confidence to face all challenges. We’d like to close this note by sharing a thought about how best to support our children in this Ski Team journey.

Yeah Buoy
It all starts with a buoy. Deep in the North Pacific, a lonely NOAA buoy floats, diligently collecting all sorts of weather data. Tracking buoys is really nothing new; surfers have been following buoys for years. The Powderbuoy uses NOAA buoys in Hawaii to track the same energy that surfers ride in waves to forecast snow we ride in our mountains. When a buoy "pops," two weeks later here in Utah we are looking for snow! Learn more about the science of oceanography & tracking buoy pops here.
