Greetings to All!

I hope each of you were able to attend the Cecil County Fair this year.  I would like to Thank Everyone that was able to attend the AG Showcase this year; we broke our record for attendance.  I think the weather had something to do with that.

PLUS, we had an awesome FREE lunch sponsored by the Office of Economic Development, that was sourced locally and prepared by Robin at Rumble Way Farm. The lunch was delicious.

Enjoy the rest of your summer.

An Interactive View of AGNR Across Maryland

Users are invited to virtually tour AGNR's off-campus

research and education centers.

A new interactive virtual reality experience highlighting the University of Maryland College of Agriculture & Natural Resources’ (AGNR) off-campus assets is available, designed to educate researchers, students, and the public about applied research and available community assistance throughout Maryland.

Dubbed the Center for Excellence in Animal and Crop Production (CECAP), the online platform denotes AGNR’s eight Research and Education Centers (RECs), as well as the University of Maryland Extension offices in each county. The Center provides a dynamic look at current research projects happening across Maryland, lead investigators, and other hosted programs, using photos, videos, links and other materials.

Viewers can get a quick overview of the RECs through a virtual tour experience or, with just a few simple clicks, dive deep into current research and extension programs. Each REC is unique in its features and offerings, but all REC pages have links to staff directories, center websites, media (pictures and videos), and contact information. Visitors are encouraged to return to the Center frequently to learn about the current year's research projects, events, and publications.

CECAP can be accessed at https://go.umd.edu/apsteam. This project was developed and funded by the AGNR “Advance Innovative, Profitable, and Sustainable Agricultural Production Systems” Strategic Initiatives Team.

AGRICULTURE

Farmers who are looking for financing options to operate a farm or buy land can answer a few simple questions about what they are looking to fund and how much money they need to borrow. After submitting their answers, farmers will receive information on farm loans that best fit their specific needs. The loan application and additional resources also will be provided.

Farmers.gov Feature Helps Producers Find Farm Loans that Fit Their Operation

USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) offers a variety of loan options to help farmers finance their operations. From buying land to financing the purchase of equipment, FSA loans can help.

Farmers and ranchers can use the Farm Loan Discovery Tool on farmers.gov to find information on USDA farm loans that may best fit their operations.
