VBS welcomed more than 40 children to learn about Jesus and experience Jerusalem. Click the picture above to see photos from VBS. It was fun exploring the Jerusalem market crafters, attending Synagogue school, dancing in worship, and learning about Jesus' life!
Celebrations of Life
Celebration of Life for Ruth Nash

Her celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 30th at 3:00 p.m. at Crosstown Covenant Church. A visitation will be offered from 1:00-3:00.
Dick Stembridge's Passing
Dick was recently hospitalized and moved to transitional care at Pres Homes in Bloomington.
On Wednesday morning Dick met his heavenly Father face to face and left his earthly body behind. We are thankful for his many years of faithful leadership at Crosstown.
Picture is of Dick assisting with baptism in 2007.
The sad news has come to us that Thelma Hardman, a longtime attender of our Wednesday morning Bible study, passed away on July 12 at the age of 84.
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Thelma's life has been scheduled for Saturday, August 20 at 3:00 p.m. at the Washburn-McReavy Chapel, 1838 E. Minnehaha Parkway, Minneapolis.

Thelma's obituary can be found here. This is a note from her obituary: "Thelma had to adjust to life after losing Doug. She loved being part of the Crosstown Covenant church bible study group."
Obituary for Bruce Kallenberg

A Memorial Service for Bruce will be held on Friday, September 2 at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior at Cedar Valley Church. Bruce Karl Kallenberg served as a founding pastor of Crosstown Covenant Church.

Sunday we will resume our Sermon Series based on Peter Scazzero's book "The Emotionally Healthy Church."

The “Emotionally Healthy Church” series is focused on bringing together spiritual maturity and emotional health as discipleship essentials. For far too long, Jesus’ disciples in our culture have been unsure how to Biblically integrate anger, sadness and other emotions, incapable of revealing their weaknesses, threatened by or intolerant of different viewpoints, involved in failing to take care of themselves, prone to withdraw from conflict rather than resolve it.
Celebration of New Worship Director! As part of our worship gathering this Sunday, July 31, we'll bless and dedicate Aaron Berfeldt as Crosstown's Director of Worship Arts. This will be a time to rejoice and give thanks for Aaron and his heart to serve Jesus in our midst. As Crosstown, let us be people who pray for Aaron on an ongoing basis. May Jesus Christ be glorified and lifted up through our worship life!

Covenant Pines Ministry Center Update- Aug 15 @ 7:00pm
Crosstown and Bethlehem Covenant Church are teaming up for an event. August 15 we will be hosting Covenant Pines staff for a coffee and dessert gathering. We have extended an invitation to ten other churches. During this time we will have the opportunity to learn more about the Next Steps Capital Campaign at camp, ask questions about the new chapel plans, and offer financial support to the campaign.
Help with the TP supply
So far over 130 rolls of TP have been donated! That helps cover one month of food shelf dates.
As the food shelf continues on, we are committing to ensure that every food shelf has enough toilet paper for ALL of our guests through the rest of the year. If you would like to help this ongoing project there is a TP Tithe drop-off bin in the gathering area next to the missions wall.
Last distribution we hit a new record of 64 families served! That means we are aiming for at least 130 rolls of TP needed every month in order for every family to receive one roll.

Kitchen is now OPEN! 🍳 🍜 ☕
In the last six months we have been beset with kitchen issues: broken fridge, leaking ice machine, malfunctioning garbage disposal, sink drainage issues, flooding from the main drain, and a broken custodial sink. It's been a haul but the Properties Commission and contracted professionals have been working diligently to complete all these repairs. We are excited to announce that the kitchen is now fully operational and open for use.
Church Retreat
Save the date! Sept 16-18 Crosstown will be heading up to McGregor, Minnesota to soak up the beautiful nature at Covenant Pines Bible Camp. We will share in fellowship, learn from Pastor Evan Kolding (Lakeview Covenant), and roast a few marshmallows. This year we are working on an accommodation option for those who need a little more quiet and closer proximity to the loo.
UNITE North
The UNITE North High School Conference reached over 730 students and leaders from across the upper Midwest and Canada with the life-changing message of God. With dynamic speakers, worship music and engaging workshops, these teenagers grew in their faith and learned how they can impact the world for Jesus.

UNITE North was the culmination of hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of planning by a fantastic group of staff and volunteers from throughout the Northwest Conference and broader ECC. Special thank you to Crosstown for allowing Kristi Johnson to be one of those volunteers.
UNITE North 2022 encourages students to engage with God...

The UNITE North high school conference drew over 750 students and leaders from across the upper Midwest and Canada to Bethel University in Arden Hills, MN, July 14-17, to hear about the life-changing message of God.
