2022 In Review >

Allie Arnold and Ashley Rattanawan, FONA School Garden Support Program Managers, recently attended the School Garden Support Organization Leadership Institute in California.

This conference brought together 20 organizations from around the country, all of which implement garden programs and have a broad impact on schools in their districts. It created a collaborative space for professionals from around the country to learn from one another, share and develop resources, and build relationships.

Allie and Ashley were excited to meet others doing garden-based education around the country and learn about different program models. They were surprised to see how different school districts have invested in garden education around the country.

Allie and Ashley look forward to implementing new tools they learned from the leadership institute into the SGS program. These include incorporating responsive training strategies into our teacher professional development series and music and song into youth programs.
