DENTAL PROFESSIONALS NEEDED

Do you know of an excellent dentist, dental hygienist, or dental assistant that would give of their time to provide much needed dental care to those who might not be able to afford it otherwise? Our church is planning to host the Mobile Dental Bus through NC Baptists on Mission on Friday, June 11. We have secured one dentist for this date, but we need to find at least three more professional volunteers to fully staff this clinic. If you or someone you know might be willing to volunteer in this way, please email Kimberly Taylor or call her at (919) 604-2474. Thank you for helping us fulfill this unique and much needed ministry in our community!

IN-PERSON WORSHIP BEGINS THIS SUNDAY

As noted in last week’s issue of the Rose Window Weekly, with the blessing of the Risk Management Team, we plan to resume in-person worship on Sunday, May 2, allowing up to 100 people to attend. We are thrilled to be at this point in the recovery from the pandemic, but we also know that caution is still required. So there are a number of things we need you to help us with in order to gather in the safest way possible.

You will need to sign up using this Eventbrite link. If you do not have access to a computer, you may sign-up by calling the church office. You will need to enter the church in one of two ways: through the main front doors on the Capitol Square or through the back parking lot door with the covered ramp off the McDowell lot. The doors will open at 10:30am and we will lock the back door at 11am. So please arrive in time to go through a check-in station monitored by deacons and get settled in the sanctuary before worship begins. We ask that those who are more mobile consider parking in the government lot or deck or on the street so that those who are less mobile can have easy access to the McDowell lot entrance.

We will not require temperature checks at the doors, since hospitals are no longer requiring them, but please answer all the questions on the form, and revisit them on the day of worship. We will require everyone to remain masked throughout the service and remain safely distanced (we will have pews marked appropriately). We ask that you pick up an order of worship off the tables in the narthex and in the gathering room, as well as a communion bread and cup packet. We'll also have offering baskets on those tables, since we will not be passing the plates during worship. There will be receptacles for trash and recycling when you depart.

We will not be able to do everything we would in normal times. For example, there will be no choral singing yet (although there will be a handbell choir!). And we will continue streaming for those unable to attend in person, and give priority in subsequent weeks to those who could not attend earlier. But it will be exhilarating for some of us to be able to be together, even as we look to the day when we will all be able to gather safely and worship in all the familiar ways. - Christopher C. F. Chapman
INTERACT VIRTUAL TOUR -
NEW DATE!

On Tuesday, April 27, from 6:30-7:30pm, Allison Strickland will be hosting an InterAct virtual Courageous Voices tour for our congregation. This is not a tour of the building, but instead a tour of InterAct's mission. Attendees will hear firsthand accounts told by counselors and survivors – true stories filled with hope and courage. Please know that you will not be asked for a financial contribution. InterAct will follow up with a brief phone call to each attendee within several days after the tour to request your feedback and answer any questions you may have. For the Zoom link, please RSVP by emailing Allison Strickland.
AAWC'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE

WAYS TO GIVE

There are several different ways in which you can continue to support the church financially during this time of social distancing. We know many people are facing their own financial challenges right now and have been very generous already, but a number of people have asked how they could support the church while we are unable to gather together physically. Wayne Hager has provided the following answers to this question.

• We continue to receive mail daily. Any gifts mailed to the church will be processed and deposited as soon as possible.
• We will continue to debit bank accounts through auto drafts as we have been instructed by donors.
• If you have set up a recurring donation through one of our electronic options, those donations will continue without interruption unless YOU make a change.
• If you wish to begin electronic giving, please go to this link where each of our options is explained.
• If you are considering a stock gift, please visit this link for instructions.

If you have any financial or giving-option questions, please email Wayne Hager.
CURRENT OFFICE PROCEDURES
DURING THE PANDEMIC

While the church office will remain closed to the public for the immediate future, we have someone in the office Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5pm to answer the phone and let people in for pre-approved activities. The staff and Church Council continue to monitor all realities related to COVID-19. In addition, we have formed a Risk Management Team (RMT) made up of John Baldwin, Sam Ewell, Ron Maness (chair), Alice Marshbanks, and Hollis Yelverton to help us make decisions. The RMT has developed a list of guidelines which can be found here. Any group wishing to schedule an in-person meeting or activity should contact Wayne Hager. We still encourage you to contact any of the ministers if you have a pressing need, using the following email links: Chris Chapman, Lynn Lingafelt, Leah Reed, and Michael Hood.
