DIVINE DIRECTION FOR THE NEW YEAR
I want to share this powerful prophetic story that the Holy Spirit gave me last night about a man going on a journey. He was going on a cross country road trip equipped with everything that he needed to sustain him. From food to water to clothing for extreme weather conditions, he was ready to tackle any challenge that comes his way. As he traveled, he drove through stunning landscapes, magnificent mountains and met fascinating people along the way.
But then he suddenly came to a fork in the road and wasn’t sure which direction to go in. There is a scripture in Proverbs 16:9 that says: A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. You may be going in one direction, but it’s possible that the path that you are currently on may not be the best one to take. It is important to take a step back and evaluate your direction to ensure that you are on the right track..
There is popular device known as a GPS that is used in aircraft and automobiles. GPS is an abbreviation for Global Positioning System. For those of you that are not familiar with it, a GPS is a small gadget that will tell you exactly where you are on earth at any time of day. It gives you directions by transmitting signals from a satellite to your GPS receiver. The only thing that is required to get a connection is to have an unobstructed view of the sky.
The signals move at the speed of light to arrive at a GPS. With the GPS navigation system, you can type in any address or location and it will automatically calculate the fastest way to get you to your destination. It highlights the location on the screen, and gives you a visual of the road ahead. If you don’t follow the directions on the GPS and you go off the wrong way, the navigation system won’t stop just because you got off course. It will immediately update and calculate a new route from where you are.
Even if you went miles out of the way in the wrong direction, up and down mountains, through the wilderness or into valleys this navigation system will constantly make adjustments showing you the quickest and easiest way to go back in the right direction from where you are. Some of you experienced this in your car with the Go0gle Maps navigator. When you made a wrong turn, you heard that voice from the speaker say “Recalculating” until you turned around.
I looked up the definition for the word recalculating. It means, to calculate again, typically using new data, or to calculate again, especially for the purpose of finding an error and correcting it. In the same way, the Holy Spirit wants to lead you and guide you in the right direction. If you got off course in 2023, Jesus wants to bring you back in the direction that He has for you in 2024. He will immediately come up with another way and plan no matter how far off you went, He will find another route to bring those dreams to pass in your life.
He will show you how to get your ministry back on course. Even your mistakes and shortcomings won’t cancel out God’s plans for your life if you turn around and allow the Holy Spirit to gently lead you back on track. He will never force you or go against your will. Within your heart you can make plans for your future, but the Lord will show you the steps you should take to get there if you allow Him.
As we come into this New Year, it is imperative to discern the Holy Spirits leading. Some of us need to close some doors so we could walk through the new door. He wants to take us to a higher place and reveal wonders beyond our imagination. In order to embrace the journey that He has for us, and go to a higher level, we need to release any baggage that’s weighing us down. Some of you may have been carrying this baggage for years and you don’t realize the weight of it.
If you walked into a room that had a bad odor in it, you would instantly smell the odor. If you stayed in that room for a period of time, you would no longer smell the odor. Some of you have been living in situations for so long that you have become complacent and accustomed to it, and you don't even realize that this is wrong or an abomination to Jesus. Living in such situations for an extended period will cause us to become desensitized to the Holy Spirit
As we are in a season of shifting and shaking I would encourage you to release anything that is hindering you from going forward in your walk with the Lord. The Holy Spirit is about to move in a mighty way, and He’s looking for clean vessels to fill with His fresh oil. I sense an urgency in this prophetic message. Close the door in 2024 to anything that is hindering you from receiving the fullness of His promises, as we enter into days of Shock and Awe in 2024
