Saturday -April 2nd was the date for a Show and Go hike led by Susan and Alan Fraser. We were delighted to see a hardy group gathered to hike into Stratton Brook Pond via the Stratton Brook Pond Rd.
The 5 +/-mile round trip loop was made by 8 CVOA members and an old faithful Pup “Popeye”. Hiking was accomplished along the mostly crusty snow covered road with areas of ice and then gravel. Using hiking cleats was a definite plus on the final accent into the Stratton Pond bridge and then onto the trailhead for the Wardens Trail. We were greeted with warm sun, cool breezes- and gusts of wind so we didn’t feel badly for missing a day of skiing. We were accompanied by a hardy group -Chris, Diane, Eileen, Rick, Charlotte, and Rick and Popeye. It felt good to catch up with a few we haven’t seen in quite some time and meet some new CVOA-ers. Hopefully we can all catch up again soon as the spring and summer events take place.
Best,
Susan & Alan Fraser
