Cécile Dusserre and her daughter Amélie are the 5th and 6th generation of female winemakers at Domaine de Montvac, which has been passed down from mother to daughter since 1964. Their estate encompasses 22 hectares across Côtes-du-Rhône, Gigondas and Vacqueyras, and has been certified organic since 2014. Focusing on mixed plantings, no herbicides or pesticides, they seek to embellish the nature of the local climate. In striving to allow the various terroirs to shine as brightly as possible, they allow fermentation to occur naturally on native yeasts and try to manipulate as little as possible. They voluntarily downgrade 15% of their noble terroirs to produce their Côtes-du-Rhône, which is an extraordinary example of this classic southern French village wine. See these incredible women in action and follow their story @domainedemontvac Tonight we will be joined by new friend Ashley Thacker, representing Petit Vin, a small Arlington, MA -based importer and distributor who made the fateful decision to start doing business in 2019. We look forward to seeing more from their France-driven European book. Stop by and say hi!
