Grant Funded Program
Everyone Interested is Encouraged to Apply
The Mountain has an inspiring grant opportunity to address issues of racial healing. In May, 2021, The Mountain adopted the 8th Unitarian Universalist Principle: Being accountable to dismantle racism and other forms of oppression. Especially since then, Mountain leaders have explored ways to include more individual and global learning experiences related to racial issues.
We have partnered with the Racial Healing Initiative (RHI) which is a collaborative initiative with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Fetzer Institute, Commonweal, the Retreat Center Collaboration and the Center for Healing and Liberation, to strengthen and advance racial healing and systemic change in our organization and our communities.
We encourage people who care about Mountain programming to consider joining us in this work. This grant provides for a one-and-one-half hour zoom-based listening session during January and a 3 night retreat at The Mountain February 29-March 3. For retreat participants, there will be no charge for lodging and meals.
The retreat will be limited to 25 people who have a connection to The Mountain, have a commitment to this critical work, including Mountain programs for youth and adults. Of these 25 people, some will be staff and Board members who will be instrumental in our future programming.
