Join LACUE as we partner with TCEA to offer ISTE Certification!
Be a part of the elite group of educators who have earned credentials distinguishing them from the crowd. Have your campus or district model what it means to integrate technology well. Be recognized as a leader to other educators around the world. Do all three by earning your ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Certification! ISTE Certification is a new competency-based, vendor-agnostic educator certification based on the  ISTE Standards for Educators . This digital credential recognizes educators who understand how to use edtech for learning in meaningful and transformative ways.

Focused on pedagogy. Based on the ISTE Standards.
The ISTE Certification is focused on pedagogy, not tools. It’s not about edtech per se, it’s about what you do with the tech to transform learning and improve student outcomes.

For classroom educators, coaches and library media specialists.
ISTE Certification helps build an educator’s professional profile and provides a digital credential to demonstrate mastery and recognize his or her application of the ISTE Standards, which define what it means to be a 21st century educator using technology for learning.

Have you ever used playdough as a game controller or a banana to play a piano? On February 22, educators from across the state attended Makey Makey: Train the Trainer Workshop. This was a LACUE sponsored event and resulted in the first group of Louisiana educators to be certified as Makey Makey trainers. The workshop was an amazing opportunity for participants to learn the best practices for teaching Invention Literacy, Making and Design Thinking using the award winning Makey Makey invention Kit. Makey Makey invention kits are used by educators in all 50 states and around the world and have been featured in TED talks. Participants learned how to design their own controller with everyday materials and then utilized Scratch coding in conjunction with the controller. Participants who attended the training also received a Makey Makey Makey kit. Future Makey Makey trainings will be held throughout the state of Louisiana. Stay tuned for more details.
Attention Pre-Service Teachers:
The LACUE Annual conference will have a pre-conference workshop JUST FOR YOU!!!
