Project: Paint job at Haven Harbour South comes to beautiful finish
|
Seasoned paint and fiberglass expert Ricky Nordhoff, along with service technician Jamie Cecil, have completed a nearly month-long project at Haven Harbour South to help breathe new life into this classic 31’ Gozzard.
Work included repairs to cracks in the vessel’s hull, varnish of on-board teak, hull-side paint job using Awlcraft Egg Shell White, as well as the installation of a new bow thruster by in-house technician Mark Walls. The boat’s sheer striping received coats of Awlcraft Jade Mist Green, featuring gorgeous custom gold scroll work cove striping.

Cybersecurity: Ensuring your safety when communicating with us online
|
Earlier this week, our Microsoft Office 365 email account and primary customer-facing mailbox, [email protected], was compromised and sent out suspicious emails to select contact lists without our knowledge. Recently, it has been announced that hackers, presumably from China, have found points of entry into Microsoft’s servers and are managing to send suspicious emails using legitimate email addresses in an attempt to collect user information. This has been a widespread issue, impacting over 30,000 other Microsoft business customers. We have taken appropriate action to correct the issue, and have made this serious security threat known to Microsoft.
In the meantime, if you receive any new suspicious messages from havenharbour.com email addresses, do take appropriate action by deleting them immediately. It is very important to never click on links or attachments in suspicious looking or sounding emails. You can determine that emails are suspicious or potentially malicious from the following rules of thumb:
-
If the email message has a vague call to action, such as “You have a new fax," or "Open this document now!" be wary, as we never send information to our contacts in this manner. Also note that we no longer send faxes, so messages with that language should come with suspicion.
-
If the email does not contain our logo, do not trust its content. Emails that are genuinely sent from us will have our Haven Harbour Marina Resorts logo, either in the message's signature line or at the heading of the email (as above).
-
If the email is sent with high importance, or you have received the same email more than once in a short period of time, stay away. We rarely send emails with priority levels, but if were to, we would never send them repeatedly in a matter of minutes or hours on the same day.
-
If you are uncertain about an email you have received from us, call. Before taking any rash action or clicking links in potentially malicious email messages, give us a call at (410) 778-6697 to confirm that the email was in fact our doing.

As previously mentioned, our shrinkwrap recycling policies have changed effective this year. As part of a new region-wide initiative, all vessels that have requested for their shrinkwrap to be removed by Haven Harbour Yacht Services will have a $15 dollar recycling bag fee charged to their spring commissioning work order. DIYers will need to buy the $15 recycling bag from one of our marine stores in order to dispose of any removed shrinkwrap. Boats larger than 35 feet may require two bags.
