A Letter from the Senior Warden
|
|
|
Dear People of Saint Paul's Church:
Three weeks ago, we received feedback from the Rev. Becky Rowell and the Rev. Melanie Lemberg regarding the most recent listening sessions. Thank you to everyone who participated in the process in any way, including speaking with the facilitators, attending the liturgy, contemplating the results, and praying for our Church. As our lives are busy, not everyone who wanted to attend was able to be present during that time. For that reason, we have scheduled another Zoom report to occur with the Rev. Becky Rowell. This session, which is open to all persons age 18+ "known to the church," will occur Sunday morning, June 27 at 9:45 a.m. Rev. Rowell will be present via Zoom; we are working to build a hybrid presentation so that others may be present in person at the church. Even if you have attended a report presentation, you are welcome. We will create a sign-up process for those who wish to attend via Zoom so that we can provide the appropriate link to you. One important part of the feedback was that not everyone's preferred method of communication is via email. For that reason, we will send a mailing with the same information so that everyone may have an opportunity to plan ahead. If you know of a congregant who may fall into that category, please urge them to communicate with the office about their preference as we do have non-email options available. On a more long-term basis, we are developing a plan to update our communication methods to maximize our effectiveness.
Several weeks ago, I wrote to you that I did not know where we will go from here but that hope abounds. Please know that the vestry, the office, and Fr. Bowden are working hard at making plans for our summer and our fall. We are working through responses to the listening session feedback. As we develop more fully these ideas, we will share them. We continue to ask for your input. Please do not think that the lack of specific information is indicative of a lack of activity. You will notice that you have received a lot of calls for volunteers lately. We are asking for your help in these vital missions which make our faith experience whole.
Yours,
Ashley Wright
Senior Warden

Book Study: Love is the Way: Holding on to Hope in Troubling Times
Sundays, 10 a.m. | Colonial Chapel (outside near Celtic Cross)
Led by Fr. Bowden
|
Join Fr. Bowden for this study on our Presiding Bishop’s latest book. All who are interested are invited to gather by the Celtic Cross on Sundays at 10 a.m. We will end promptly by 10:45 a.m. to allow everyone time to get into church. In this book, Bishop Curry offers no abstract or philosophical analyses of love. He simply tells his personal stories of how he has experienced the love of God, which he proclaims is the only source and key to life and that love is “an equal opportunity employer.”
