BHA Principal's Update
Assalamu Alaikum Dear BHA families,

We look forward to welcoming back our in-person elementary (TK-5th) students on Tuesday, March 16th Insha'Allah while continuing with our virtual students simultaneously. It has definitely been a challenging year, but alhamdullilah we have all persevered in the face of challenging times and have shown patience, adaptability and acquired the most important life skill in the process-RESILIENCE.

Our administration and staff have worked tirelessly to establish safe reopening plans that adhere to all local and State requirements (COVID-19 School Safety Plan, CDPH checklist, Reopening Guidebook, Staff COVID training certification etc.). Below, you may preview our COVID-19 Safety Plan and Re-entry Plan. We’ve established effective contact tracing and quarantining processes. We’ve added filtration devices in all of our classrooms and campuses. We've implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols. We've implemented physical distancing and mask requirements. And we have successfully advocated for the prioritization of vaccinations for our staff whom have been vaccinated this past weekend, alhamdullilah.

Please note that the annual school fundraiser scheduled virtually on zoom for tomorrow has been postponed to March 27th.

May Allah continue to put barakah in our school and keep all of you and your families safe and healthy.

Muhammad Aftab Diwan, MEd
A Note From The Staff to our Principal

In the month of Respect, we felt it was important to recognize Brother Diwan. We are grateful and appreciative for all you have done to help our school move forward during such unprecedented times! You have always shown and continue to show us respect, empower us and encourage us to strive to deliver the best for our students. More importantly, you collaborate with us continuously and listen and respect our opinion in your decision making process. May Allah bless you for your continuous efforts. Hats off to you Principal Diwan!
We have prepared a short tribute for viewing below:

A Note From The Teacher: 1st Grade

"I am very proud of Zahra Maawy for her greatest efforts during Math. Keep up the good work Zahra! I would also like to highlight Khadeejah Shaikh for always going above and beyond in writing and for using exact directive to complete your stories."

~ Ms. Asma

Student Highlight:

"I would like to give a special shout out to Aamina Mohammad. She has shown incredible dedication to her studies. She willingly attends all sessions whether mandatory or not, and makes sure she is on top of her courses. It has been a pleasure watching her grow into an independent learner who takes command of her own education. Although she juggles many responsibilities, she never complains or takes the easy way out. She stays strong and committed, in pursuit of being the best version of herself. We enjoy your positive, gentle, and genuine attitude Aamina, you are an inspiration to me and those around you!"
~ Mr. Muhammad

After You Travel
"You may have been exposed to COVID-19 on your travels. You may feel well and not have any symptoms, but you can be contagious without symptoms and spread the virus to others. You and your travel companions (including children) pose a risk to your family, friends, and community for 14 days after you travel.
Get Tested and Stay Home After Travel
  • Get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel.
  • Even if you test negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days.
  • If your test is positive, isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected.
  • If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.
  • Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness for 14 days, whether you get tested or not.
Follow all state and local recommendations or requirements after travel.
Also, take these actions after you return from travel to protect others from getting COVID-19:
  • Avoid crowds and stay at least 6 feet/2 meters (about 2 arm lengths) from anyone who did not travel with you. It’s important to do this everywhere — both indoors and outdoors.
  • Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when in public settings. Masks are required on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States and in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations.
  • If there are people in the household who did not travel with you, wear a mask and ask everyone in the household to wear masks in shared spaces inside your home for 14 days after travel.
  • Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness.
  • Watch your health: Look for symptoms of COVID-19.
Getting tested after travel is especially important if you did any of these activities that put you at higher risk for COVID-19:
  • Going to a large social gathering like a wedding, funeral, or party.
  • Attending a mass gathering like a sporting event, concert, or parade.
  • Being in crowds like in restaurants, bars, fitness centers, or movie theaters.
  • Taking public transportation like planes, trains or buses or being in transportation hubs like airports.
  • Traveling on a cruise ship or riverboat."
