Yearbook Editors Needed!
Do you have graphic design skills? Do you enjoy working with photography? We are looking for one or more volunteers to edit our yearbook. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our current yearbook editor has had to step down, so new volunteers are urgently needed.

Watch FREE streaming movies this school year!
Did you know Puesta del Sol PTA pays the license allowing teachers to show copyrighted material like movies or documentaries at school?
Swank, our movie licensing company, is piloting FREE access to selected movies on scheduled dates, including streaming in Spanish and other languages (when available).
PTA Members - you do not need to email to get the code.
Movies are available on scheduled dates (see below)
Allow >2 business days to get the code. (PTA Members—get the code immediately)
The codes do not apply beyond our school community, please do not share beyond current Puesta del Sol families, teachers or staff.
Families must have their own internet access and device to stream.

International Festival

Location: Newport High School PAC
Puesta del Sol International Festival is back for 2022!!! The International Festival is an opportunity for the school to gather together and Puesta del Sol kids to showcase their multicultural dance/act talents! Save the date and plan on joining us for the show!
Volunteers are needed to help make the International Festival a success. Jobs are manageable, fun and you can make new friends in the process. Children whose families volunteer will have priority for participating in the flag ceremony at the start of the show.

A recording of Jamie Cho's presentation "Let's Talk about Race and Racism" is available for a limited time. It's 45 minutes well worth your time. We are grateful for this valuable resource and learning opportunity for our community!

Fifth Grade Families and friends, save the date for
Wednesday, June 15th, 6pm
We are planning for an outdoor event on the lawn, south of the playground.
Last year it was wonderful for everyone spread out in the sunshine. The gym will be our back up location.
We are also looking for volunteers to help out, including a co-chair for the Ceremony, and other opportunities from large to small!

Learn Flamenco Dance!
Flamenco dance includes lots of footwork (stomping!), percussion of hand clapping patterns to flamenco rhythms, arm and hand movements, proud posture, finger snapping, moving to the rhythms of flamenco music, learning a singing number with clapping and choreography.
The instructor for this class is internationally known Flamenco dancer and teacher, Ana Montes (www.anamontes.com). One or more parents of students participating in the class will also be present to help with attendance.
This is a PTA-sponsored program and is taught in Spanish.
Who May Participate?
Flamenco is open to boys and girls in grades K-5, with a maximum of 25 students per session. If the minimum enrollment of 8 students is not met, the class may be canceled.

*Class ends promptly at 4:45pm. Please have your child meet the instructor and Parent Volunteer in the school gym right after school ends. Please supply your child with an after school nut-free snack (the gym has a drinking fountain).
$120 for 6 classes.
How Can I Volunteer?
At least one PTA-member Parent must always be present to take attendance and help supervise. Parent Volunteer receives a 50% discounted registration fee for his/her child. Please register for the Parent Volunteer discount upon checkout. Only one discounted volunteer registration is available.

Searching for Host Families
Puesta del Sol is looking for host families for our 2022-2023 Amity interns. Host families play a vital role in the success of the program. By welcoming an intern from another country into their home, volunteer host families gain friendship, understanding, knowledge and a connection to the world. Host families will experience new tastes and customs and have the chance to practice their intern's language. Your children will learn about different parts of the world from the intern and may receive extra help with their own language studies.
At Puesta del Sol, our host families typically host for 13 weeks but offer longer durations. You may select to host for Fall, Winter or Spring or half-year, and we will extend full-year if necessary. The Amity Committee needs 20 host family applications for 6 interns to ensure improved matching and experience for our interns and families. You may make a preference for male or female and/or time of year. We are in need of families interested in hosting male interns.

COVID-19 Drive-Through Diagnostic Testing for BSD Students
Bellevue School District offers diagnostic testing for COVID-19. Diagnostic testing looks for infections in individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
Drive-through testing, by appointment only, will take place Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 12:30pm at:
